Big roadtrip in the works. I have job related travel to the U.S. soon...

4 days in Washington D.C.
6 days in Los Angeles
2 days in San Francisco

Any suggestions on good brewpubs/micro pubs to check out?

As for L.A. I have done the "scene" there a few times. Other than Barney's Beanery with 20 taps (mostly crap like Bud and Miller Lite) the only decent place I found was all the way down in Long Beach (50+ taps at the Yardhouse). Any place I missed? I've never been to D.C. or San Fran so any guidance there would be appreciated. I've long yearned to visit San Fran as I KNOW there are some great micro's and brew pubs there like Anchor...what else do I need to know about?

Check out http://www.ratebeer.com/ShowTours.asp It should help you out.

P.S. LA is a beer wasteland, so I hear. Lots of other fun stuff to do though. If you end up in the Valley check out Henry's Tacos stand at the corner of Moorpark (sp?) & Tajunga (in North Hollywood). Fabulous food.

Also check out the cajun restaurant in the Farmer's Market in L.A. I had some great gumbo there a few years back. I also picked up some fantastic butter toffee from a candy shop there. Real melt in your mouth good!

I didn't find anything worthwhile beerwise, but at least the Anchor beer that I picked up was really fresh. I found it to be much better than it has been here.
