Heritage Passion Brew

Post by wilco »

Saw the Heritage Passion Brew at Summerhill tonight: it's the crappy beer that says "I love you" to the special lady in your life. Or just gets her drunk.

Be sure to add it to your drinkvine!

The image on the black currant rye is quite nice actually.

Unless it has improved, my last experience with the Heritage Blackcurrant Rye will be last experience with their seasonals

All they need to do is add a little gold foil on top and they'll be at the level of Trafalgar labeling excellence.

Foil or wax on the caps makes the beer taste better.

The bottle I bought last year was infected and returned to the LCBO. I'd like to think those issues had been cleaned up, but I'm waiting until I hear some positive feedback.

Working really well on the infection problem. We've got specialists coming in giving us advice, we've got a fancy scientific lab up and running that we are using to try and catch problems, and we've altered our cleaning procedures to try and minimize infection. Obviously things aren't going to be perfect, but we're making an effort and each day open to new ideas about how to do things.

Oh and on the Passion Brew... I actually encourage people to try the Passion Brew. We've changed the recipe of the beer and taken a new approach to the beer that's vastly different than when we did it 2 years ago. It definitely wasn't what I was expecting, that's for sure. We've gotten great feedback from people who are avid beer drinkers who's opinions I greatly respect. Just food for thought.

i liked this years version. it has a nice, clean lager base with noticeable but not overberring fruit in the aroma and flavour. id drink it again.
