It's been a while since I've added some new content, but I put two new articles on the site this weekend:
- new Pub Walk to the <a href="

- new On the Road report to <a href="

Hello Cass, Great report on Quebec . However, you missed the best BP in la vieille capitale. La Barberie, on St-Roch st. , offers at any one time 12 beers. They have over 100 recipes which they rotate, along with their standards. However, it's not in the most touristy area but is well worth the detour. About 15 minutes walking from the Vieux-Quebec. They also bottle and their fares are availbale at Johannette in Mtl.

Thanks for the update Lubiere. I didn't realize La Barberie was actually a brewpub - I thought is was simply a micro! I did try them on tap in a couple of places, and did bring some bottles home from Joanette.
Guess I have to go back now

Actually , it is a micro, but they have a large "tasting room" which is open from noon till 1AM. Since they are not a brewpub, they can't close a 3am and they can't serve food. However, you are free to bring your own food or to call out for delivery.
If you stay on Autoroute 40 on your way back, you can also go stop in Joliette, at l'Alchimiste, on Manseau St. Same principle as la Barberie. Trois Rivieres is also a good stop, with Gambrinus on Des Forges! You definitely have to go back, as the ski seasons finishes in April!!!

Damn, this posting was a week too late for me. Just got back from Q.C.I didn't know that La Barbarie now serves, luckilly I p/u some bottles to try.
l second Luc regarding Chez Gambrinus in Trois Rivieres. A very cozy brewpub with a very courageous selection (mint beer in the summer, orange beer was brewed once until it fouled their lines). I always find the atmosphere exceptionally friendly and the food is good.
p.s. if anyone is in Trois Rivieres, stop in at La Marche des Bieres (?) north of Chez Gambrinus on Des Forges (approx 5 min.) on the west side past the Quebec Hydro facility.

It's le Marché du Boisé. Excellent selection!
There will also be a new micro opening in the spring, in Pointe du Lac, a suburb of 3 riv.
