Corporal Punishment will be brewed on Wednesday,April 2, 2003!
We are using 2 row pale, Dark roast (142L) crystal and Amber malts. Challenger and Willamette hops for bitterness and aroma.
We expect to see 84 I.B.U.'s.with loads of aroma. So far, this is a one off, but success can change all that, as seen by the Sgt. Major's IPA.
The beer will be first seen at the Winking Judge Beerfest (sorry, no tickets left)on April 26.
Wish us luck!

The Corporal has been brewed and will be kegged next week, in time for the Judge's Beer Fest.
The beer turned out beautifully, with the Dark Crystal and Amber malts really giving some depth of flavour. The IBU's are pegged at 84, but are nicely integrated into the overall package.
I am entering Session, Sgt. Major's IPA and Corporal Punishment into the Canadian Brewing Awards in May. In order to get it judged properly, I had to find the specific category that fit the Corporal's profile, under BJCP guidelines. Turns out it's an American Brown Ale, Category 10, sub-category "D". I hope we can all get together and sample some soon!

Hi KP!
I'm not sure where to debut the beer in T.O. The Bow has been sugested many times and it seems a likely spot. I have to arrange it with the new management though.
Ideally, I would like to arrange a "Bartowel" tasting, with bartowellers and fellow travellers invited. If you know of a place, someones house or deck, that is suitable for such a thing, let me know.
The Sgt. Major's bottles were delayed due to the situation at KLB. We are proceeding, with a different bottler. I have to raise the money for the packaging ($15,000.00!) first, but when that is done, I'm heading for the LCBO. I hope July 1st would be the launch, but as always that is very tentative.
