My understanding is they're adding about 10 additional taps and 3 more casks...gonna be awesome!

Any possibility for more seating? I love volo, but their space is far to limited to support their popularity.

The new concept is no table service and limited food options. So, yea. Not sure if they're hoping most people to stand or if they're adding more seating, but considering the spirit of the new concept at best you should hope for more bar seating.

Interesting. Not sure if I posted this anywhere before but I've noticed in a couple of places in the States (notably San Diego) table service is increasingly less common at beer bars. Seeing that SD sets quite a few trends as it relates to beer its unsurprising to see this emerge here too.

I believe the idea is to open up the bar area for more standing (ie less seating). Not really sure, given the limited space they have, where you think they might put more seating.

Yep - grub, do you know where they're putting the extra cask engines?

not sure, but i believe the new tap setup is more taps in less space than they occupied before, so it could just be more room around where the old engines were... perhaps some on each side. there was a bunch of dead space that could be put to use.

:o

As an aside - that Winey Bastard by Nickel Brook is intense!! I thought Pinot Noir barrels wouldn't do much to that stout, but it did. It's interesting, but not the easiest thing to drink.

Bad news guys. First taps are gonna be Miller High Life and Pabst Blue Ribbon. Apparently they dropped a bunch of money. Bloody hipsters...

Edit: Video of the announcement

and they actually blended it back with about 10% fresh stout to soften it a little. I loved it last week at the amsterdam brewstache event, but admittedly only had a quarter pint. definitely funkier/winier than the one I made with Iain that was pouring at cask days, but damn tasty.
