non-alcohol beer
Okay, I know that there aren't many fans of the Non-alcohol beers around here...including myself...mainly because there aren't many that are worth drinking. I was just looking through a "brew your own" publication that says that any self brewed batch of beer can be simply made into a decen...

Re: Private Ordering
By the way, they make a very healthy margin on Special/ Private Order.[/quote] Healthy margin might just be an understatement. In a recent debachle of mine in trying to ship some wines back that we bought while in Australia, I enquired as to whether it would just be better to try and special order t...

LCBO Strike?
And so it seems the season of strikes is upon us... I was browsing through my local Vintages store the other day and overheard the customer service rep talking on the phone (not in a quiet and secretive manner) about the fact that "the union" is in a strike position for sometime between th...

Aussie Recommendations?
Hi all,
Will be heading down to Oz next week. I've looked at the ratebeer site for any advice, but can't seem to find anything exciting. Just wondering if anyone here has any tips on good pubs in Sydney, Adelaide or along the South coast of Victoria?
Thanks!
Kim

I too enjoyed the Haymaker, and I like the London Pride, so no complaints here. ... I wasn't terribly excited about the Van Diest Fruli or the Belhaven either, although I'm always happy to try new beers... Interested to hear what others have to say. I find London Pride in the bottle to be a very di...

That really is bad news...we used to frequent there on Saturdays. Just looking around on the C'est What site though, they have not mentioned anything about it on the Nia page, and are apparently still taking bookings. Do you think they'll make an announcement anytime soon? I also wonder if any other...

I sympathize with the lack of decent places in the Port Credit area Publican. I knew that the beer selection at the Pump House Grille would be fairly run of the mill interbrew, as its owned by the same guy who runs the Clarkson Pump and Patio just down the road. Didn't think he'd be venturing into a...

Hey Matt, I'll tell ya, that's a big undertaking to try and out every place around here that has shite beer. I would hazard a guess that there are probably 5 places with a bad beer selection for every 1 with a good beer selection. I mean, if you want to name a whole number of places with crap beer, ...

Hi Matt, I've been doing some stuff at a BOP in central T.O., but seeing as (as I mentioned before) I'm moving to Mississauga, I was wondering what the BOPs were like out that way. I've noticed that there are two very close to my new place, right on Lakeshore Rd. Have you been to either of these and...

Thanks for the replies all...looks a bit bleak I guess. The two nearest pubs to my new digs will be The Clarkson Pump and The Harp, both on Lakeshore Rd. The Harp was where I tasted the Old Credit Amber Ale the other day, otherwise it was pretty run of the mill offerings. I'm assuming the Pump will ...
