Re: Montreal

Has anyone here ever been to the Mondiale de la Biere festival in Montreal? It's coming up May 22-25, 2019. https://festivalmondialbiere.qc.ca/en/ Looking it over, I'm skeptical of it being anything special. I have been several times but haven't been recently. Our usual approach to it was to try an...

Re: lcboapi.com and drinkvine.com

Well thanks for doing it this long either way! What are your options? Would some volunteers help at all? I can't code but would be happy to help with updates once it's set up. How much would you have to charge for the site to make it worthwhile? Have you looked into sponsors at all?

Cheers!

Re: Free trade?

Does anyone know if Ontario breweries also pay the lab testing fees? If so it's not really going to be a great argument that they are unfair barriers.

It would be nice to get more imports from across Canada frankly, but personally I'd also like to see mandatory date coding in that case.

Re: Collective Arts

To be fair, its nearly impossible for breweries to survive selling one can at a time to untappd tickers... Having said that, it is odd to sell a special release in 4-packs when all regulars sell as singles. The opposite strategy would seem to make more sense. I think the sales trends at the LCBO pr...

Re: Collective Arts

Is anyone else rather annoyed at some of the special releases being sold in 4-packs only? They sell every other beer as singles so I don't quite understand the justification for only selling them in 4-packs, it certainly doesn't make it easier for the consumer. I know I buy less beer from CA as a r...

Re: Worst Ontario Craft Breweries

To continue the conversation, everything made in Brantford is bad Steel Wheel was actually pretty decent on my one visit. I had one beer on tap there which was alright (a kettle sour). The 3 or 4 bottles i got from them were all bad. Zero aroma, nearly zero carbonation, and tasted like un-femented ...

Re: Worst Ontario Craft Breweries

As for those attempting (or pretending to) make beer. I think Henderson's is the biggest disappointment for me. For all the investment and community hoopla, the beer (or the one's I have had) are just meh. Was there community hoopla for Henderson other than their own promotion? I don't think I have...

Well that was pretty great! Did Session 1 and the Volo Beer Garden on Sunday and had a great time at both. Thanks for all the hard work to everyone involved!

Re: Cask Days 2018

I am having a tough time narrowing things down. I’m in the 30s. I’ll need to start ranking. Is the keg section new this year? I don’t remember it from last year. They had a a much smaller keg section last year but didn't really promote it. (Or at least I personally wasn't really aware of it until I...

Re: Cask Days 2018

I was pretty vicious in culling my list and I'm down to 24. I guess I hope that some of them get tapped before I get to them so I don't die? I hadn't counted but this made me curious enough to check - I flagged 19 Tier 1 and 27 Tier 2 priorities :) History suggests at least 1/3 of those I will miss...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Wow! Regarding the Founders issue...while I don’t generally like to get involved in these type of discussions on a beer page (it’s one of the reasons I come here), I will say this: judging companies and making purchasing decisions on moral/ethical grounds can be a very slippery slope. Own any Apple...
