Keeping a live octopus in a tank is probably not cool. Painting a giant octopus mural ON a beer tank would be though!

Re: Great Lakes Brewpub (Queen's Quay / Jarvis)

I'm excited to check it out post-pandemic.

Something I would love to see is the ability to pre-order some of the one offs / new releases etc for pick up at this location vs trekking out to Etobicoke on transit.

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

Anyone else think Bellwoods is out to lunch with their pricing these days? The latest releases for BOYD and Skeleton Key are $20/btl! That's still a 500ml bottle btw. I used to buy Bellwoods all the time but they've lost me with these crazy high prices for their barrel aged releases. I'm in a simil...

Re: Persian Empire

I had Otanabee River on my "brewery" list but didn't really know much of anything about them.

Re: Storm Stayed

One thing I didn't notice on first glance, but am seeing now, is that this box comes with a glass for pickup and local delivery orders. Assuming they normally sell that for ~$7, that means the beers are more like $93 for local orders, or $3.88 per can. That is a bit more reasonable, and puts things...

Huh. Did they release all of them? I thought it was just the Wicked Awesome that got released?

Re: TBS

The Beer Store website received some much needed changes. The inventory now works like it should. https://www.thebeerstore.ca/ also LCBO website now lets you give a 5 star rating on products. I was just looking at it thinking it should be more like LCBO site. For example, trying to find the Unibrou...

Re: Some OG Bellwoods

Hi all, No idea if there is any appetite for the following beers that I've just found in the midst of a recent move: Bellwoods Grognard, No Rest For The Wicked (x2), first run of Lambda, first run of Grandma's Boy, first run of Jelly King (x3) and first run of Warp & Weft. Lemme know if any of ...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

For such a large brewery in Ontario, GLB makes it stupidly difficult to buy their beers direct, if you don't want a case of stuff. I don't think you can even just show up at the brewery to buy what you want anymore? Pretty sure you can get singles / mix and match etc if you go to the retail store n...

Re: Who are the best choices for cider?

As far as I know, Revel and West Avenue are the best of the cideries out there, but I'm not as familiar with them as I am the breweries. Agreed. I personally find West Avenue more consistently good, but partly that is because Revel does a lot of interesting experimental stuff that are misses for me...

Re: North Works Brewing Co.

Tomorrow’s drops I'm probably just an old fogey but the idea of beer "drops" vs just calling them "releases" or "availability" or something similar drives me bonkers. Sorry lol, I don’t really disagree No worries. :) There are several other beer social media phr...

Re: Modern trends

I think the "trends" part of all this is where the issue is. Hazy IPAs, pastry stouts etc. all have examples where there is an early beer in that style that was amazing. Then everyone started doing them including a lot of brewers that are less skilled or don't have that style down. I activ...

Re: Best Traditional ON Craft Brews

I'd argue Godspeed Kuro is maybe the best straight up stout in Ontario right now. Nice balance, flavourful and drinkable.
Black Oak Nutbrown always solid.
