Re: So is $3.75 for a 355ml can the new norm in east Toronto?

Definitely "standard" releases like Centennial can be had for around the buck-a-beer level all over the US, especially if there's a sale. Ontario has legally-mandated minimum prices, stunted distribution and competition which I think play a part in making cheap beer non-existent in the pr...

Re: So is $3.75 for a 355ml can the new norm in east Toronto?

I don't blame Brewers from capitalizing on beer 'tickers'. Personally I'm happy to pay a small premium to be able to buy a single vs. trying to force me to buy a 4 or 6pack. Drove me bonkers in Alberta this summer not being able to buy singles - I generally don't buy $12-16 six packs that I have ne...

Re: BCBS Black Friday in TO - Nov 24

Seems like a better deal to just show up at 6 and hope they arent sold out? Unless they are charging the same amount after 6.

Re: Cask Days 2017

I'll consider the lounge next year. I do value a place to sit and relax and the music is obnoxiously loud if you're too close to the DJ (yes, I'm fully aware that my transition to crusty old man is pretty much complete). I am also apparently a crusty old man, but it was WAY too loud period IMHO. Ev...

There's 200 awesome beers at a festival but you managed to drink 20 of the shitty ones because you took them as they came. Did you enjoy the festival? If so... good for you.

Re: Cask Days 2017

FOBAB in Chicago doesn't release their beer list until you walk in the front door. Last year they had 400 beers. I kind of like the surprise of walking in and exploring, but I understand that people want to target certain beers to try. That feels like a recipe for making people mad that they missed...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

Kind of wish I went to Witchstock now. I had no idea breweries like Trillium and Other Half would be there. Beer lists weren't posted until like the day before. Maybe if I read into it I could have figured it out though, but I didn't pay attention I guess. I'll make sure to go next year now. They l...

Re: Witchstock

Couldn't help but notice almost no one getting samples at Godspeed. Their offerings definitely looked like "plain vanilla" at this event. I'd argue it's more a case of it being local. Why get something that's going to be available all week at the brewpub when there is stuff rarely availab...

Re: Cask Days 2017

I personally don't really pay attention to all the pre-announcements. It's the full beer list that I'm excited to see! Fair play to those who do want to see it though. Adds to the fun!

Re: Zwanze

We got there early and lined up pre-opening, which we apparently didn't need to do. We had a great time, had a very chill afternoon and enjoyed a bunch of beers, a tuna sandwich and some fried chicken! I feel like the no ticket thing may have back fired - people just assumed it would be crazy and st...

Re: Golden Tap Awards 2017

Way to go Arabella Park! ... kind of interesting that a pilsner won brewmaster's choice ... I obviously need to get to Merit, soon ... never even heard of 555, which is a good thing -- great new stuff keeps popping up in Ontario ... and in conclusion, haters gonna hate. A number of brewers in Toron...

I got a single ticket. Website wouldn't let me buy two for some reason. Guess the wife and I are sharing! :)

Re: LCBO Autumn Import / Halloween / Ontario Release 2017

BRUNSWICK BIER WORKS INC | Weihenstephan Vitus | 3.95 | 500 | 7.7 Brewed in Toronto? Same thing with Omnipollo I believe. That's the Craft Brand Co. guys - they're contract brewing their repped brands locally at their own brewery. So is $3.95 expensive then? Or a deal? What did it go for when it wa...
