Cool, thank you.

Maybe I’m in the wrong area but I don’t see any.

Nvmd, I just saw it the latest ones in the “stories”. Too bad I can’t see the previous ones.

Re: That Boutique-Y Whisky Company Whisky Holiday Calendar 2019

James E Pepper 3yo Oloroso Cask Rye: I’m not typically a rye fan, I find most have a one-dimensional spicy characteristic, however this was quite lovely. Spiciness was smoothed out by the sweetness of what I assume is the sherry cask, with a hint of vanilla and caramel too, which hides the 50%abv be...

Re: That Boutique-Y Whisky Company Whisky Holiday Calendar 2019

Reservoir 2 year old: while I liked the barrelled woody notes I picked up I found this quite hot, as in it could use much more aging to mellow out. By the end of the dram I was overwhelmed; I found it less enjoyable as I drank it.

That Boutique-Y Whisky Company Whisky Holiday Calendar 2019

I believe a few of us got one of these, so I thought we could share thoughts on what we’ve sampled, as I’m interested in hearing Portwood’s educated opinions, as well as those like myself who are less so. That said, I’m not a “burnt vanilla, hint of Central European oak” type of guys, so my thoughts...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

I was thinking the Stout and the Pale Ale, but I guess the Pale isn’t part of the series. Didn’t try the honey wheat or the milkshake stout (which I would avoid like the plague) but I’ll check out the red. Agree on the peppermint IPA though... someone else check that out and let us know, lol

Re: Uncorked-Wine and Spirits Appreciation

Anyone looking to "experiment" with Whisk(e)y? This could be a good place to start: https://www.lcbo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/en/lcbo/that-boutique-y-whisky-company-whisky-holiday-calendar-11662#.XciLl1c3kmR not sure its the same set, but looking at the company's website, its a good ...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

This is true. In the last couple of years I have turned into a religious date-code checker. The breweries who put a clear, easy to read date stamp on their cans are to be commended and deserve support IMO. As a recent example (out of many) I wanted to try Sons of Kent 8 Track XPA, which was recomme...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

it’s getting harder and harder to find these West Coast leaning beauties(that made me fall in love with IPA’S) in a sea of haze-on haze- on haze. Isn’t this the truth! I think Lone Pine is the only thing I can find that’s WC and fresh. Octopus Wants to Fight was in that wheelhouse too, but it’s bee...

Re: Uncorked-Wine and Spirits Appreciation

Back from Calgary where the bourbon is more expensive but the scotch is less expensive than the LCBO. So on a totally impulsive buy I bought, and had tonight: Nikka - From The Barrel Lovely rich dram with a bit of sweetness, subtitle fruits and almost a creaminess. Would give this to a scotch curiou...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Had the 10 a few times last night. My first one I found green and chalky with too much body, funny enough. However after having a few IPAs and getting to the point in the evening where I wanted to gear down or I’d suffer the consequences in the morning I switched back to a couple of 10’s to end my n...
