Ontario will allow restaurants to sell takeout liquor, wine and beer

Big news, feels like it could be a game-changer (at least temporarily). Wonder if some of our favourite beer-friendly restaurants will get on board?

Re: Ontario Beer Delivery Index

This is awesome, Cass. Thanks for this!

And now that this news has broke, it's going to change the retail landscape for a while: https://www.thestar.com/politics/provin ... -beer.html

Re: What're you drinking right now?

I've been really happy about the latest crop of canned Ontario pale ales and IPAs at the LC lately, particularly the New England varietals: ⋅ The newly New Englandized GLB RoboHop is amazing. ⋅ Their Karma Citra, Octopus and As Far Back... are also strong picks. ⋅ Jutsu...

Beer at Penguin Pick-Up

I stumbled onto the Penguin Pick-Up at Church and Bloor the other day, and noticed they were selling alcohol. Namely, a few Rainhard products, some wine, and precisely one type of spirit (Reid's gin). Here's their selection: https://www.penguinfresh.com/collections/beer-liquor Never heard about this...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Grapefruit Sculpin is definitely delicious and crushable, but it's somewhat sugary. If you like bone-dry IPAs, or you don't like any notable sweetness in your beer, you may not like it. I'd say it's more of a summer beer, complete with one of these: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/6...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

So disappointed...I was online at 8:00, but didn't check that fervently. Agreed on the lottery system and introduction of captchas. Seems strange for something like beer, but there was a time when they had special beers through Vintages, so why not? Any recommendations for great saisons within reac...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

The latest newsletter featured a survey, asking if we'd be interested in having their beer available for delivery. If you have a strong opinion on this, let 'em know!

Re: "Peak" Craft Beer?

The top comments on the article read almost like a parody of sullen, knee-jerk conservatives. Reminiscent of the editorial cartoonist "Kelly" from The Onion: https://www.theonion.com/c/editorial-cartoon

Re: The Pint Public House

I passed by after the game last week and was curious about it. Looks like they put a bit of thought into the craft lineup. For better or for worse, these new chain sports pubs are ever so slightly redeeming the drinking scene in Toronto. Know what would be awesome? Some kind of tap-exchange program ...

Re: The Six Brewing

Why, I remember way back in the '90s when we just used to call it "The T-dot, O-dizot."

Come to think of it, "Northern Touch" would be a great name for a beer.

I tried one of their IPAs recently (Rorschach Reverse Psychology) and thought it was just about perfect. I'd give them a shot!
