You're right if you think the SIB beers are better on draught. The bottling process used at Heritage allows too much oxygen into the beer, which starts the staleness clock ticking right away. The draught packaging process is much simpler and is almost bullet-proof.

There are no plans to package the John By in 6-packs. The Corporal Punishment is being submitted to the LCBO for sale, and it too will be sold in singles if accepted.

Enjoy it while it lasts. The offshoot of this is that Ralph and Ina realised that tying vast amounts of time and capital up by bringing in cases of private import beers was not paying off. Don't expect that the bottle selection at Volo will be as ample as it had been.

The beer will always be "heavy" in the mouth. A combination of low carbonation and tons of malt will do that every time. The sweetness level will decrease however.

I first has Bass Pale Ale from the LCBO back in 1974. It was sold in a stubbie bottle and cost 45 cents a bottle. I'm sure it had been a regular item for many years prevoius as well.
Sometimes "product discontinued" indicates a new package is here/coming. Maybe it'll show up in cans.
