Great idea guys. I really think and hope that the free house or open system beer movement is gaining steam in Ontario. The government makes it so difficult for so many businesses to get ahead and I applaud your efforts to take the initiative to add another voice to the discussion. Maybe with this si...

I totally agree. The night was worth every penny from the incredible dinner and pairings to the inspiring, honest and very funny Sam Calagione. Beer Bistro was at it's best last night and I can only hope that they do make it an annual event like Sam was talking. Compliments to the entire staff at Be...

I can't wait for this project to come to completion! "In the meantime, keep supporting great beers and beer styles. Variety will only exist if we refuse to celebrate mediocrity." Mr. Mason I couldn't agree with you more. I love that comment as it really sums up what this whole site and it'...

I agree that I could see this being an expensive rig but I think it would be up to the brewer as to how the beer tasted. What I'm guessing is that this is just a computer controlled brewhouse that's miniaturized. Pumps and agitators probably follow a program based on time based on a given recipe/pro...

Rogue Brutal Bitter Discontinued?

I was just on the LCBO site and it said that Rogue Brutal Bitter will be discontinued. Is this for real? It says that remaining stock will be sold off. I hope that this is a mistake.

No problem

I picked up some cans at the brewery and I had no problem at all. It must be hit and miss I suppose. I've also recently picked some up at the LCBO and haven't experienced a problem there either.

Thanks guys! I'll look in to all of the options both of you have given me. It's a shame that homebrewing doesn't seem to be nearly as big here as it is in the states. I guess BOP's are where it's at for Canada while from what I've heard they don't do well at all in the U.S. I guess Americans on a wh...

Sorry I know this is off topic in this thread but Jaymack and Grub where do you guys get your supplies from? This includes hops, grain and yeast for all grain brewing? Somewhere in Canada? I've had a hard time finding anywhere in Canada so I usually go to Niagara Traditions in Buffalo but the border...

This will really open the eyes of a lot of Ontario beer lovers and hopefully expand their palettes. In my opinion it is only recently (last 2-3 years, generally) that Ontario micros are even beginning to make interesting beer. The US market has been at it for quite some time and maybe this will make...

More than a little confused by that response. I'm not talking about measuring innovation by sales volume or reach of distribution. That's a one dimensional approach to a far more complex discussion. Perhaps because of smaller distribution due to distribution problems an alternative business model sh...

Fritz Maytag didn't exactly do "what they always did" but I agree that Jim Koch should be given credit along with Maytag. Has there been a single Ontario based craft brewery owner that has been nearly as innovative or more importantly as hungry as these two? I'm sure many will pass this of...

Mill Street Wit Bier in Bottles?

I heard that Mill Street is bottling their Wit Beer. Is this true and if so does anyone know when it will be available and where (LCBO, Beer Store or just the brewery)?
