Re: Omnipollo beers

The Nebuchadnezzar right now, about three weeks old. Can from the new LC on Spadina and Front. Very good classic IIPA. This expansive new store in a slightly less useful location also had a number of wines on clearance discount, I saved about 20 bucks on 2 bottles of Bordeaux red. You won't see the...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I found the cannings of Karma have been a little uneven this year. For instance I had some Sep 11 cans that were excellent, but there was a slightly earlier date that seemed to be lacking aroma and carbonation. I've noticed this sort of thing before with GLB, but I usually let it slide since their ...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

it’s getting harder and harder to find these West Coast leaning beauties(that made me fall in love with IPA’S) in a sea of haze-on haze- on haze. Isn’t this the truth! I think Lone Pine is the only thing I can find that’s WC and fresh. Octopus Wants to Fight was in that wheelhouse too, but it’s bee...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I thought there was still a reasonable amount of hop flavour and aroma in the jai alai. It was an enjoyable $3.75 investment. I’m also enjoying this. You are right, still some good hip flavour in it. I’m happy to have it, as it’s getting harder and harder to find these West Coast leaning beauties(t...

Dupont Avec Les Bons Voeux 2016 - wow this brew is ageing nicely for anyone who scored a few spares to lay down. It's gotten rounder and smoother over three years, and perhaps it will continue to evolve as more delicate and slightly drier over time. Shana Tova. https://craftbeerlove.files.wordpress...

Do the still do the Altbier? Haven’t seen it for god knows how long(that being said I totally just breeze past creemore). I used to really love that beer.

Re: Ontario Craft Beer, Imports and Pumpkin Beers at the LCBO (Fall 2019)

It's probably the best beer at Loblaws. That is an interesting question, actually -- what is the best beer commonly on the shelf at Loblaws? Other contenders: CA Life in the Clouds, Omnipollo Zodiak, BtP Aromatherapy. (I would have included Side Launch Mountain Lager, but it is extinct of course). ...

Re: Ontario Craft Beer, Imports and Pumpkin Beers at the LCBO (Fall 2019)

Uerige Alt, you've made my day; I'm getting an entire case this time around. Pohjala, Cigar City, Dogfish Head, Oskar Blues... the import list is definitely pretty solid this year. Ontario list I agree, not as exciting but there are some decent ones in there. Elora Borealis is great, so I'm looking...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Beau’s Wag the Wolf. I remember this one being good, but drinking this current LCBO batch and it’s pretty bland. Very little wheat character. Ditto for the hops. I also remeber this being one of the few Beaus beers that I really enjoyed years ago. I had a can in my hand today, but didn’t pull the t...
