Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Anybody tried the Black Butte XXX???
I splurged and bought it, somewhat against my better judgement. I’m hoping to like it as much as I like Nirmal Black Butte when I first had it. It doesn’t do it quite the same for me these days.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

^^^i just got a mail delivery before Xmas. My first taste of any Dominion stuff and I can’t recomend them highly enough. Really good stuff, and the cheap shipping price combined with quick delivery was an added bonus. The surprise of the bunch for me was their brown ale, really excellent.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

CA radio the mothership-a big bastard, but damn it’s good. First time I’ve had it in 2 years....not sure if it’s changed or if this batch is just tasting especially tasty. Almost a month old, but still tasting super fresh. On tap next: Barncat’s Blueberry Double Juice iipa. I wanted to get ou...

Re: What're you God or something right now?

* NEW * Godspeed Irori Peated Scotch Lager (yes, like a Scotch Ale only its not.) Smoky and sticky. Godspeed Oberkassel Altbier - even better than last year's, with fruity depth and black tea notes venturing into classic British Ale territory. * NEW * Godspeed Gokuresama Kölsch Style Ale - absolute...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Anyone tried 'Bring out the Imp'? http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo/product/bring-out-the-imp/618603 Yeah, had it about a week ago. Highly recommend it. There’s some cool barnyard-y sort of flavours that come through from the red wine barrel. The abv was dangerously unnoticeable if I remember correct. I’m g...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Motley cru 2018(blueberry). Apparently I didn’t let it selttle upright long enough, because she was a bit of a gusher and I lost an ounce or two. It’s so good, just a great beer to sit down and slowly sip away on. Lovely funky sourness to it, but to be honest I’m not sure I get much/if any blueberry...

Re: Uncorked-Wine and Spirits Appreciation

For those who like to sip their Tequila (rather than getting drunk on shooters) I'd like to bring your attention to Pasote Reposado LCBO has marked this as a clearance item and reduced the price 25% good value for a high quality Tequila! Thx for the heads up....is this the 25% off price? I love a g...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Get 2 bottles and it’s equal to less than $10 for a 660ml bottle of 12% imp stout, compared to $12 for 500ml of Kentucky bastard. Both equally rated on ratebeer. But this way it’s easier to drink half and still have the other half sealed. Edit: can’t wait to try the lickinghole heir apparent, almos...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Barncat’s Mother Night. Rye barrel aged stout with maple syrup——-I’m not big on sweet things, so when I see maple etc in beers I’m generally pretty apprenhensive. This beer however, is unreal. From the very first sip to the last it’s a masterpiece. It’s lip smacking thick and sticky with an underlyi...

Re: Barncat Artisan Ales, Cambridge

Going to Barncat on Friday, is there anywhere else in the C-W-G area worth stopping in for? Rhythm and Brews beers are ok, from the 5 or 6 I’ve had but nothing special. The space itself is pretty cool though, it’s ablut 500 meters around the corner from Barncat. Northworks does Crowlers if your int...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Boulevard Whiskey Barrel Stout — This brew is actually a blend, containing 1/3 fresh (non barrel aged) beer, and you can definitely tell. It's just not as intense as your average well-made BARIS (Double Tempest comes to mind). But it is a tasty stout no less with whiskey barrel and chocolate/carame...

Re: Collective Arts

Seem to be reading/experiencing more and more inconsistency and quality issues with CA these last couple months. Are they maybe stretching themselves a bit thin?? I agree that they seem to be having inconsistency issues lately. I regularly buy LITC but have found it to be basically a different beer...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

I’ve had bounty hunter a couple of times and been underwhelmed each time. I never get the adjuncts from it and just get the base beer(which is nice tbh). From my experience, probably my least fav Bellwoods beer, apart from some of the OG beers in the first year or two

Re: Fairweather Brewing

Drinking Fairweather’s Donna. Their first kick at a pilsner(and lager in general i think). It’s absolutely fantastic. Lots of apple and pear, crisp cracker malt and a really clean dry finish. It’s honestly tough to put down for more than a minute between sips. Damn near perfect in every way. Fairweat...
