Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

The amount of Orval selling through the LCBO is unbelievable. There are many stores that have had people buying it by the case. If this kind of pattern of high sales continues, the board will be more likely to want to have it carried year round. I’d like to agree....but never trust the LCBO to do a...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I picked up Orval, bottled late Sept 2020. Pretty fresh! Also FYI LCBO has stopped taking any returns during lockdown. I had planned to return some rather stale beer xmas gifts but was told by the clerk to to hold on to them until lockdown ends... could be a while. I see that Orval has been listed ...

Re: Godspeed Brewery

I was recently surprised to see Godspeed in the LCBO, the Yuzu Saison. Excellent beer. I’m hoping a couple of the lagers make their way there as well.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Hey Man, I need to commend you on this 'review'. Reverance barrel works Basic-I downright hated this beer. Something about the bourbon/cinnamon/lactose flavours mingling just completely turned me off, I don’t think I even finished the bottle. I seem to be in the minority on this one, but not for me...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

A couple of real standouts recently. Barncat Sweet Release-Their BBA barley wine was outstanding and is the best beer I’ve had all year hands down. Can’t believe I only bought 2 Barncat Brandy barrel aged Rat Queen-also excellent and probably my favourite variant I’ve had of this beer. So good. Nick...

Re: Nickel Brook Soda

Question for those of you exploring the craft soda scene. Anybody come across a good unsweetened tonic water in the local market? Personally I just don't like sweetened drinks, sugar or otherwise. I get that quinine can be a potent substance without some sweetener, but I actually had a totally unsw...

Re: 2020-2021 Winter Season at the LCBO

Just realized we aren't getting Samichlaus this year. Bummer. Hope it returns in the future, as I only have a few bottles left. Same here, I think I’m down to my last two bottles I’ll generally drink an older vintage during Xmas eve day, and replace it with the current year to keep rotatiting the s...

Fuller's Vintage Ale 2020 reads For the Vintage Ale 2020, we've stayed true to our roots - sourcing all our ingredients here in the UK. The story starts with DRC®, a Double Roasted Crystal malt from East Anglia that promises malty sweetness rich in caramel and raisin. Then there's the Herefordshire...

I thought 13(especially) and 14 were some of the best of the series......and if 15 is an exact remake of 5, will be great also.

Definitely one of Royal city’s better offerings. I look forward to it every year.
