Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

Let me know when you're coming and I'll buy you a pint at either one of these places, Paul. It's long overdue anyway.
I'll be sure to do so. Thanks!

I'd like to put the Winking Judge in a future article about beer bars--first I need to pay a visit!

I've added Castro's to my list for my next trip across the border.

This month I made my debut as All About Beer 's "Beer Traveller" columnist. My first article was about bars in Toronto, my favorite summertime destination--and not just for beer. Establishments mentioned in the article include The Rebel House, Bow & Arrow, Allen's, C'est What, Smokeles...

Halfway through the festival, a group of people standing behind my table broke into a semi-rousing chorus of "O Canada." Was that Josh and his friends, by any chance? I was at the 2001 festival and this year's event was much better in terms of beer quality. The smaller brewpubs have really...

Anyone know what a Gabby's is like!?
If you're a beer lover, it's not a pretty sight. Theme restaurant/bar with a limited beer selection (Creemore was the only Cdn micro). Caters to the 19-25 age group. At least that was the impression I took away from the Gabby's on Bloor Street.

Overall, they range from good to very good: they're comfortable; staff are hospitable and attentive; the food is a cut above typical pub grub; and most have NTN trivia, which I like to play. This past weekend, however, I noticed a di...

I visited Esplanade Biermarkt over the Canada Day weekend, and was impressed by its efforts to please beer lovers. The menu is the best-arranged and best-written I've seen (thanks, Biers4All, for sharing it online); and the "keg room," with dozens of barrels of beer visible behind a large ...

My festival calendar lists beer festivals from around the world, with links to festival websites and (coming soon) reviews. You'll find it at http://www.beerfestivals.org And if there's something you'd like to add to the calendar, there's an email link at the top of the page. Cheers! _______________...
