Yea, I would normally skip it at that age but for whatever reason I had a good feeling about it. I can only imagine how much better it was fresh though.

Re: Wet Hopped Ales?

Picked up the Rogue Coast Haste Imperial Hazy IPA and despite the LCBO's IPA aging program, it's quite good. I didn't realize until after I'd bought it but it's a wet hopped IPA and it's loaded with fantastic fruity tropical hops. It has that full, viscous body that's typical of today's hazy IPAs- t...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

With a friend of mine recently discovering the world of craft beer, and instantly becoming a hazy fan, I've been tagging off his orders/trades and trying some pretty good stuff lately. The highlight has to be Brasserie du Bas, what a phenomenal brewery. Both I've tried, Neron and Vertige, are so bea...

Re: Rhino clearout

https://www.therhino.ca/beer-cellar-sell-off They had Westy XII + a "commemorative glass" for 20 bucks, although it's gone already (no surprise). Almost drove down there on Friday since that'll probably be a once in a lifetime buy, but alas I've spent far too much lately and with GI BCBS h...

Re: 2020 Holiday Gift Packs at the LCBO

Finally, O'Hara's makes a return. While I wish it was just the stout individually, I'll take what I can get; probably my all-time favourite Irish dry stout. Some other good looking packs in there as well- time to start saving. So the O'Hara's pack was in both of the KGBOs that I've been in recently...

Re: 2020 Autumn Ontario Craft Beers, Imports / Contracts?

... Also, I know that we're getting a lot of German beer that's actually brewed at Brunswick Bierworks in East York. That actually sounds very promising to me as opposed to stuff being shipped/stored in varying conditions. Is Hofbrau Oktoberfestbier one of the Brunswick beers? Really, because the L...

Re: Muskoka Brewery

I also try the Harvest Ale every year just to check. I've had a couple this year, it's.... not bad. Not much else to say, at least one of the times I was drinking it out of a can while walking so I can't get to fine with my assessment. So I've done the same thing for the past few years and this yea...

Re: Kizuna 絆 Original

It's here! Kizuna 絆 Original Vermont Inspired IPA. Thoughts when you e tried it please. Tried one last night. Well constructed as expected for Godspeed, but nothing really stood out. It's a good beer and all but based on the description and collaboration with Hill Farmstead I was expecting a little...

Re: Muskoka Brewery

First of all, I was surprised to find there hasn't been a thread for Muskoka here. It's amazing how spoiled for choice we have become! You'd think someone would have had something to say about Muskoka in all these years. Perhaps they should have released a fried chicken sour to get on our radar. /s...

Re: Wet Hopped Ales?

Yep, looks like it's sold out online already. That didn't take long. ^^^ I find that they often add beer listings to the site a day or so after they appear at the shops. So it probably just hasn't been listed yet. I may go there later to check, if so I'll verify. I can confirm that I saw it on the w...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

BURST along with Karma Citra are now on shelves at Vic Park/Ellesmere. Pretty good selection of GLB on shelves right now as they join HazeMama, Octopus, Canuck and Pompous Ass. I agree, it's nice to see GLB pumping out the LCBO listings since I'm never in the west end anymore.

not on the list but tagged under Oktoberfest/Marzen and Dark Lager Muskoka Munich To My Ears https://www.lcbo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/en/lcbo/muskoka-munich-to-my-ears-16887 The more O-Fests / marzens available, the better. Would love to see more wet hop / harvest ales for the fall as w...
