Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

I'm pretty sure Duplicitous existed well before they put out that mystery pack. I guess it's possible that they just slapped a mystery label onto an existing product (in order to see if it was worth pursuing a wider release), but I don't know why they'd choose to be secretive about it. Same with th...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

NB rep told me Lost in Orbit is the session ipa from the mystery pack. And they've got Dupliticious dry-hopped gose coming out soon too, which was the fourth style in the mix pack. They claimed the Cheeky Bastard was a different recipe than the mystery pack stout, but to me it tasted near identical...

Yea, it is the winner. I've been looking forward to this one, it was a nice IPA.

Re: Doug Ford

That said, buck-a-beer disappeared a decade ago, and even with this supposed removal of a minimum selling price, who's to say the swill could even be sold for $24/case nowadays? The price of everything has gone up in that decade, and even back then it was a low margin model that brewers probably do...

Re: Doug Ford

Desperation? or a brilliant read of his base/supporters? https://twitter.com/OntarioPCParty/status/1000439982430085121 never thought I would ever see a "Conservative" Party promise something so interventionist/socialist/anti-free market. To be fair I'd view the minimum beer selling price ...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Live Transmission Milkshake IPA from Flying Monkeys, the first such so called IPA I've encountered. It's very good and the milkshake is there. As an aside, I have a lot of faith in this brewery regarding Pale Ale's and IPA's, but very little faith regarding stouts. I thought Aurora Heart was a wate...

Re: Von Bugle Brewing

All right, they’re making a Lager with European hops! This one is darker, and also won’t have any corn syrup or foam enhancers http://www.canadianbeernews.com/2018/04/05/steam-whistle-brewing-launching-von-bugle-brewing-spin-off-in-etobicoke/ My guess is it'll be something along the lines of a dunk...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Garrison Juicy DIPA- wow.......I don't think I've been lied to this badly by a beer before. Claimi g to be an east coast IPA, dank, tropical,Juicy and hazy. Absolutely not! Hazy.....damn it's pretty similar looking to an adjunct lager. Dank, nope. Tropical, ok yeah I taste a tiny bit of mango. Juicy...

Re: Collective Arts - Stranger Than Fiction Porter review

I found it ok but a bit boring myself. Too bad, because Collective Arts has some good beers. This beer could do with some more hops or a more complex yeast strain. I really liked it, but then Clifford Porter came along and now it's my go-to porter. At the time there were pretty much no regularly av...

Re: Dieu du Ciel! Péché Day 2018

I ended up making it to Godspeed mid-Saturday afternoon, had a great time. No lineup, it was busy but not overwhelming. Got to try all the varieties, including Godspeed's collab with Dieu du Ciel. Termopilas was probably my favourite. All in all a great event, really cool to have it in two locations...

Dieu du Ciel! Péché Day 2018

http://www.birreriavolo.com/news/pecheday2018 Taking place in two locations this year, Birreria Volo and Godspeed Brewery. Looks like quite the lineup, an exclusive Gospeed collaboration variant of Péché is a nice touch. I've never gone to a Péché Day before so I don't know what to expect, but I'm h...

Re: IPA's, go Ontario, go.

I really dig this beer, maybe not quite as good as #5, but for 2$ less it's better bang for buck imo. It actually reminds me a lot of Ransack, although a fair bit juicier with much more restrained bitterness....a lot of the same tropical flavours though. Will need to do a side by side. Definitely a...

Collective Arts Life In The Clouds IPA - a real winner. I'm enjoying the different artwork on each can of this brew.
