Re: What're you drinking right now?

Got out to Town Brewery for the first time this weekend. Had their Square Wheels from the LCBO previously, which is a great hazy IPA, and I've gotta say the whole lineup was great: -Couch Full of Dads: Even better than Square Wheels, amped up juiciness with lots tropical/citrusy hops and a smooth, c...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

IPA No. 12. Quite nice, lots of citrusy tangerine along with melon, white grape and berry notes. Hazy and smooth, liked it a lot better than 11 which I found had a cloying and gross amount of lactose sweetness. That said, $4.95 for a non double IPA seems steep. As much as I liked 12 I'm finding a l...

Re: Ueriger and Collective No. 12

[On the what're you drinking note, I've been enjoying the return of Uerige Altbier- this is a world class beer in my humble opinion, makes me want to book a trip to Dusseldorf right now. Same here, a very unique style - although of course props to Godspeed's wonderful version. Ueriger has maybe a d...

Re: Ontario Craft Beer, Imports and Pumpkin Beers at the LCBO (Fall 2019)

LCBO website still gives me a "not available at any stores" message ... LCBO, being LCBO click on the "buy in-store (unavailable)" button with the red X, then click on "check all stores" you should see a list of stores with quantities quite often it looks like nothing ...

11695 De Moersleutel Dolle Dries 2 Imperial Porter - 440mL - Netherlands This is now listed, but no stock showing. I'm looking forward to trying this based on style. Is anyone familiar with this brewery? LCBO website still gives me a "not available at any stores" message but this one just...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Hitachino Nest Nipponia, which was part of an online order. It’s classified as an Imperial Pilsner, but I’m getting more Barley Wine in the nose, taste and body. Noticed that the best before date is December 21, 2019, so wondering when this beer was actually produced and what changes may have occur...

Re: GLB Tetrahedron Belgian Quad (Rum Barrel Aged)

I picked this beer up at Great Lakes Brewery in Etobicoke. It has a dark brown colour between a triple and a typical quad, so it is lighter than usual. There is almost no head to this one. Aroma of rum, orange candy, and chocolate. I can taste rum, brown sugar, molasses, with some earthiness in the...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

^^^^ To be fair, I haven’t had that particular beer. But everything I’ve had from fixed gear(6-8 different beers) has been very average at best. I won’t be buying any more until I hear otherwise. I’d definitely say they’re my least favourite brewery in Guelph. At $4.25/can I'd hope for something a ...

Re: Peppered beers

Great Lakes has Murder for a Jar of Red Rum, a stout with grilled serranos and chocolate. It was decent, a bit mild all things considered though.

Re: Ontario Craft Beer, Imports and Pumpkin Beers at the LCBO (Fall 2019)

Not seen a single beer from the import list in-store. Has the lcbo given up altogether or are they clearing the shelves before I turn up? I have seen Hofbrau Oktoberfest, Maduro Brown and Windswept Glen Moray. maybe find a LCBO with a better manager or try ordering online? Online ordering doesn't s...

Re: Ontario Craft Beer, Imports and Pumpkin Beers at the LCBO (Fall 2019)

Not seen a single beer from the import list in-store. Has the lcbo given up altogether or are they clearing the shelves before I turn up? I've seen Pohjala Must Kuld at a couple locations, but that's the only one. Frustrating since there are several from the list I'm eager to buy, Uerige Alt in par...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

People will pay $4.50 for a can of pilsner from Bellwoods Which is strange considering you can go to any LCBO and get a Radeberger for $2.50. Or Jever for $1.95. Bitburger too, there aren't a lot of regularly available (through LCBO) local pilsners that I would consider to be as good, and when you ...
