Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

Marche Omni bought out one of the owners.. and he was the main beer guy. His last day was Nov 30th. So the beer selection will drop off, and the prices have skyrocketed. For example, I was in yesterday and DDC Solstice D'Hiver was 14.99+tax when last year it was 9.99$ at the same place.
Looks like my Omni days are over. On the bright side I stopped into the SAQ and their shelves were full. I did a little experiment to see what I could get for 77$ at the SAQ (the same amount I paid for westy 12):
Sad to hear. I had family that wasn't too far from Omni and loved to pop in to pick up a few bottles to have with supper. Used to love those Unibroue sales they had there.

You guys should check out La Trappe à Fromage on St-Raymond. Seems like a less popular spot for beer, couple of days ago I spotted LTM Baltic Porter 2011 and DDC Momentum 4-pk from last winter/spring. And you can buy singles unlike Omni, where 12oz beers are mostly 6 packs. Seems cheaper than BrouHaHa too.
Omni actually isn't too bad. I guess some people complained after they raised their prices and they are almost back to normal. It's still worth a visit.
will be going up in a couple of weeks. I've seen them before in Montreal, but do any of the gatineau stores sell the 5 litre cans of Simple Malt Cascade IPA?

Yeah, I haven't specifically seen them lately (haven't been over in a few months) but Broue Haha has typically had them. I thought I saw them often enough at Omni as well. Just email the broue haha guy ahead of your trip. He'll let you know the stock for sure, and I bet he'd put one away for you.
