Much bad news for the big boys. Better blame the weather.

"Also hitting the market soon is a bow-tie shaped Budweiser can that will be sold alongside regular Bud cans."

It's that kind of original thinking that will save big beer!

Can't decide whether to load up on that, or save some money for Straw-Ber-Rita!

The label clearly states that it "Contains Alcohol". I'm not sure if that's intended as a warning or a promise.

I've heard through the grapevine (like, 3rd hand) that the actual numbers might be worse -- a very large growth in returns to distributors isn't being tracked. I.e., the amount of pale lager actually purchased by consumers is showing an even larger drop. Maybe even a 10% year over year decrease.

And, before we all do cartwheels over the ascendancy of craft beer ... craft's growth over the last few years has been almost exclusively on the back of one style, hoppy pale ales. It seems to me that we're largely replacing one monoculture with another.

I mean, yeah, I love hoppy beers (and I wouldn't be entering this weekend's IPA challenge if I didn't) ... but I can remember when we used to joke about the limited style choices present in mainstream NA beer.

"Bud Light Lime "Straw-Ber-Rita" " ???

How many line extensions is that ? I've lost count....

I think I will wait until next year for Bud Light Lime "Straw-Ber-Rita" Platinum in a sleek wide mouth 750ml can.
