Alexander Wood
Alexander Wood
I heard that the Church-Wellesley Business Association has contracted Muskoka Brewing to make a special beer to commemorate Alexander Wood, an historical icon in Toronto's gay community. I thought that the Beer Store near C&W might carry it, but it's not listed on the TBS website. Has anyone seen it anywhere? (If you don't want to admit frequenting certain establishments, you can always say that a "friend" tried it somewhere...

As far as I know, it's simply called Alexander Wood Beer.northyorksammy wrote:will it be called Golden Boy?
And I'm actually not 100% sure that it's Muskoka who is brewing it. Some Googling revealed that they had submitted a proposal for the beer to the Church Wellesley BIA a couple of years ago, when plans were first started for the statue of Wood that was recently erected. But I haven't found any official announcements about the beer being launched, just mentions of it being available as of a couple of months ago in bars & restaurants in the area, and this page on the Church Wellesley BIA website that shows images of the label & coasters. None of these sources indicate who is brewing the beer.
Next time I'm at Volo, I'll try and take a stroll over to the Church & Wellesley area and see if I can track it down...

Reminds me of all the fun we had at one summer job with an engineering company joking about "erection diagrams" and "orifice plates"
I wonder if there is a beer called Abbey Dubbel Entendre yet...
