FW has some nice ones too but they are pricey. I haven't looked in to if they even ship to Canada so this may be a dead end for you, but it could help: http://www.firestonebeer.com/shop/index.php?category=31J343MY wrote:not to thread-jack (but I'm going to). Well there are glassware collectors, glassware users, and a combination of the two. I'm in the last camp (though my collection is kinda weak). If you collect, it's inevitable to have similar shapes/sizes with different logos. There simply aren't that many different styles.MatttthewGeorge wrote:
Funny, I wish all my glasses weren't branded. I have way too many glasses of the same type because of the different brands. Just a couple of each, unbranded, is preferred for me.
If you really dont care for branding, then you wouldn't be a collector. In that case buy 12 tekus and be done with it

I would say I'm in the combo category as well, it's just that the collection is getting so out of hand that I'm really speaking to my desire, more than my habit. It's really the fact that so much of my glassware is free, and I would have to buy unbranded, and why would I when I get glasses for free. It's a vicious circle.instantkamera wrote:Well there are glassware collectors, glassware users, and a combination of the two. I'm in the last camp (though my collection is kinda weak). I would like to get a couple of tekus glasses though.

I used to sell beer. Now I don't.

Be that as it may:squeaky wrote: But... That doesn't make any sense.
But to really be able to have an “expert” opinion on a beer, even if you are just a beginner connoisseur, it is fundamental to have a glass that meets specific requirements. That’s why, after tasting dozens of beers – from the most famous lagers to the great Abbey beers – in dozens of different containers, our Teo, the most eclectic Italian brewer, and the legendary Kuaska (Lorenzo Dabove), the top Italian beer expert, have designed the shape of the “universal beer glass”. At the dawn of 2006, “TeKu” was created. Its name is the rather straightforward acronym of Teo and Kuaska (Lorenzo Dabove). Manufactured by our friends at “Rastal” – an industry-leading company – TeKu is considered THE official Italian glass to taste beers. Its particular shape enhances their aromas and tastes and is therefore a valuable companion for brewers, beer tasters, or simply beer lovers.
And judging by it's popularity with many beer enthusiasts (with more knowledge and experience than myself), they are on the right track.
Or maybe it's just a fad, I don't know.
When it comes to glassware in general I feel there's still room for personal preference and there's also a lot of 'splitting hairs' between various styles.

As an aside to the OP, the box pictured on the Bay website is the box of two glasses. Royal Selangor, the Spiegelau importer is bringing them in with a SRP of $19.99 for the pair. I suspect that is what The Bay is selling them for, and when they say the quantity is "one", I assume they mean "one box" (which has two glasses in it). iQ Living on the Danforth also has the glasses (and many other great glassware).
I did an event with Royal Selangor a few weeks ago, and wrote a piece on the glass: http://www.torontobeerblog.com/miscella ... ipa-glass/

Thanks for the clarification; 2/20$ is a good deal. They also take Paypal on HBC's site (I've done some Christmas shopping on there already, may have to go back for morechris_schryer wrote:As an aside to the OP, the box pictured on the Bay website is the box of two glasses. I just got off a live chat with someone at The Bay, and they told me it's 1 glass. Here's our conversation:
Amber H: Thank you for contacting us. How may I assist you?
You: This is in regards to WEB ID #: 0040-4991682
You: Your website only shows a single glass, but I have read elsewhere that the importer is bringing them in a 2 box.
You: So I'm wondering if your "One Size" is for one glass, or one box with two glasses
Amber H: It is only one.
You: Only one glass?
Amber H: Correct.
You: ok, thank you
Amber H: You're welcome

I fired them off an email. I don't have one of these glasses and would love to grab at least one. If they do, I'll let everyone know in case anone wants to order any of their other glassware etc.TheSevenDuffs wrote:FW has some nice ones too but they are pricey. ***EDIT: I just read the reviews (there are two on that page). It looks like one idiot didn't even order and is just commenting on the price, but another customer said:
Saw this around, and glad to finally get my hands on a set. Great design that really does bring out the best in my fave Flying Monkeys craft brewed IPA.
Nice. If I recall, there is no option to ship outside of the US on their order page, so it would appear to be a no-go, but it's just merch, not booze.TheBeeraholic wrote:I fired them off an email. There are two glasses in the box. Just bought a set at the Queen St. location. All of the Spiegelau glassware is on sale for 30% off.MatttthewGeorge wrote:I just got off a live chat with someone at The Bay, and they told me it's 1 glass. Here's our conversation:

Yeah, I actually did the live chat too, but the agent told me they didn't have the information, if it was one glass or one box, so I assumed "Amber" (same name) was probably an off-shore 3rd party contractor. They seemed to only have the information I could see on the page myself.
The box they show is definitely the same box I got, and it's got two in it.
If the retail locations are selling them as sets, I think it's a safe bet that they are sold that way online too. Anybody know when the sale ends?
