Last night: Persephone Double IPA - do yourself a favour and find someone in BC to send you a few of these. My new favourite (best?) DIPA in Canada. I hear it's north of $10 a bomber, too. Funny since I mostly agree with the moaning over Robohop's LCBO price, I almost didn't get a bottle, but I'd pay the >$10 for this on the regular.
Tonight: Driftwood Twenty Pounder - good, but not on board with the hype. Some nice pineapple, but an off-putting onion bite to it as well. Perhaps mosaic is not my thing.

Not a huge variety in Hamburg Germany - the 'Craft Beer Culture' bars would make you snigger to yourself at how little they offer... Like 4-5 taps of very plain-Jane offerings (by BarTowel standards) and a few 'rare' bottles you'd easily give a pass on.
But I have to say the Budvar (Czechvar) here is so fresh and delicious, it beats almost anything going. (The Staropramen and Uquell, not so much.) Walking around the trendy Sternchanze district you can go open bottle, too - so far no alcohol-driven riots have broken out, in fact the open-bottle partiers are remarkably civil on these fun and crowded nighttime streets.
Picked up lots of Berliner Kindl Weisse and some Anderson Valley beers at a bottle shop, plus some other nice odds and ends... the Kindl is terrific at 3% ABV. Got some Budvar Tmave (Dark) as well.
