Nickel Brook and Collective arts own the brewing equipment and are shipping it in from the East coast. I can't imagine their lease agreement stipulates they have to leave it there. Pipes and stuff, maybe.
The collaborative Arts & Science Brewery will brew both Collective Arts Brewing and Nickel Brook Brewing beers and is equally owned by the two companies.
So I guess the brands stay separate. It's an interesting arrangement, I don't know that I've ever heard of two breweries splitting ownership of a plant before. I'm impressed that Collective Arts have the backing for this so soon, they must be killing it at the LCBO with R&R.
Why is everyone surprised by the collaborative ownership? Ryan Morrow is the brewer for both of them. They're already affiliated in that way, so this really shouldn't be a shock.

No, I just meant pipes, electrical etc. From the descriptions in news articles, it seemed to me that Labatt tore out every pipe and bit of wire. I know a different brewer would have to do reno's anyhow, but it sounded like Labatt tried to make the building unusable without an unusual amount of reno; I could be wrong. Anyways, I hope they do well and it never comes up.
