I don't recall seeing mention of this anywhere here or in the Coming Soon thread (or, strangely enough, on Nickel Brook's FB or Twitter...), but today I came across Nickel Brook's Le Paysan Saison, 750 ml, $8.95. Not yet listed on LCBO/drinkvine, but there were about 12 bottles at Brock St. (Parkdale), and I'm assuming elsewhere as well.

"This 11% abv version of our Fraoch is matured in ex-sherry casks previously used to mature Auchentoshan single malt. Brewed as an 11% Fraoch Heather Ale then matured in ex-sherry & single malt whisky casks giving a rich creamy brew, full of notes of sherry & barley wine with a wood & whisky finish."
Picked it up at Wlison/401. Its about as Whisky/Sherry as you can get in a beer. I wish it had a tinge of peat in it, but this is a damn good sipper, worth every penny.

AVENTINUS ICE BOCK
LCBO 58875 | 500 mL bottle
SEASONAL/LIMITED QUANTITIES
Price $ 5.60
Wicked to have the almighty Eisbock back. This was my first Schneider brew and I instantly loved it. But i will slightly balk at this price I will now be paying. Its by no means exorbitant, but I've come to think of the mellower Aventinus and the Hopfenweisse as great bargain beers that I can now enjoy on a regular basis. The quality, format and price of these just hits that sweet spot for me. This one is $2 more than those. Now the BO does have a good record when it comes to import beer prices, but does anyone remember the price on the last time this was here about 3 years ago?

LCBO 383638 | 750 mL | $ 9.95
it's funny, this was released at the brewery back in march. i wonder if this is the same batch? if so, is this another imperial ipa that will be four months old by the time it hits shelves? check those bottled on dates! i'm hoping it's a new batch because i remember this being nice, but i am not optimistic.

it seems the only way to get fresh ipas in ontario is direct from the breweries!

This beer just won best DIPA in Canada at CBAs so I would like to think they re-brewed it celebration of that.

Wow only 40 bottles left? This is very disapointing, I was hoping for a full out release like the weizenbock. Only Summerhill and Pickering LCBOs got some so far. Unless this is just the start of the rollout, but the red text on the lcbo website has be worried.

I expect this is just the start of the rollout. Even for a very limited release, 40 bottles total is ridiculous.

I spoke to the brewery today and they said it'll definitely hit shelves later this week or early next (they weren't sure why it was taking so long, apparently the LCBO had it some time ago). No mention of when it was brewed though.

Peensteen can you confirm if this is a slow roll out or just a miniscule order? I'm unable to see any bottles, in the new LCBO website.

The new site looks alright, but I'm already not fond of the inventory search feature which forces you to specify either city or postal code before seeing the stock. Some beers have such little quantity (like this one) its very useful to see a system wide inventory instead of being forced to guess which GTA municipality it may be in.

I really hope you're right. I saw that Summerhill got 40 and Pickering got 96. Now it's all in Pickering. I mean it can't be worth importing only 136 bottles, right? At least I hope I'm right.

I've had this on tap a few times and liked it. In the bottle it was rather disappointing...definitely not worth the price.

I like the beer and the brewery, but if you're saison is more expensive than Dupont... it'd had better be as good as Dupont (even in the green bottles)!
