Hopefully that finally means private orders of beer will be treated like wine. Easy online ordering and pickup at the LCBO store of your choice.

One of the conditions of buying the land is agreeing to rent space back to the LCBO so they can set up one of their premium locations there. I think it'll be more a location like Summerhill than the current QQ, but who knows really? It'll take years to sort it out.

Love the refernece to Rob Ford's 'Fantasy Subway' - we really have amazingly low public expectations in this province. His 'unattainable' subway is still far too sparse in the densely built-up areas near the core, and a proper rail system like Hamburg's in Germany has many more times the coverageto serve a population just HALF the size of Toronto's.

So yes, put that money where Fordy's mouth is. Please! Make it part of a Socially Responsible agenda, less need for beer lovers to drive at all with a good car-less option.

I suppose it makes sense. It's probably the most convenient "big" LCBO store for me. Will be interesting to see what develops there.

I will miss the ample free parking if they make this into a typically over-crowded clusterf*k development. Parking $5 per half hour is my prediction (validated with a purchase of $30, not great if you need four pack or two.)

I'd be curious if they plan on moving the warehouse. Although getting in and out of downtown by car isn't always the easiest, the central location did make it pretty convenient for pickups.

If you live in Toronto maybe. I essentially have to take a half day off work to pick up private orders

Perhaps this will push them to deliver the orders to YOUR local L.C.B.O. store instead of you conveniently picking it up for them there. I think so far only GTA residents have been required to pick up at the Quay (the upshot was no uncertain handling & delays of further shipping.)

Well, I'm also referring to agents who do pickups and drop-offs to restaurants. The closeness of the warehouse to the density of restos downtown is convenient.

The parking is definitely a big draw for that location. I can see them going to a system like you describe, which would be fine for me as I don't frequent the location that often.
