I tried ordering it with proper pronunciation, that didn't go well. :D

Hey, at least it's actually something foreign they're having a hard time pronouncing. You ever heard a Vermonter pronounce Montpelier?

I had from a fresh un-settled keg at Blue Monk, it was really a mess for the 8 or 9 bucks/goblet. You don't want this served looking like a yeasty hoppy smoothie, ecchh... However Blue Monk did make it up to me other times, like the final 1/2 glass of Evil Twin RON they comped me after the keg kicked!

Anyway. Look forward to a proper presentation of Dupont's 'best wishes'. :D From my Duvel Tulip, bottle chilled in the snowbank outside my deck...

Ha ha, actually, yes, yes I have.... only after the Border Guard questioned where we were heading, after stating Montpelier (french pronunciation) we said "the capitol" and he's like, oh, you mean Mont pel lie err... (to be fair he wasn't from Vermont but still....

The Vermont pronunciation of Montpelier is really no worse than the way we say Montreal in English. Mahn-TREE-all

Usage = a lot of the English language is distortions like that, right? I mean if you say Mow-ray-al, with a slight nasal "n" sound following "mow" it's more true to the original but Toronto people won't get WTF you're talking about.

Try ordering "Saahn Ahm-BWAHSE" stout at TBS and see what I mean - they might correct you and say 'oh you mean Saint AMbrose..." (which it doesn't even say on the box.) Both names are technically correct.

Oh of course I get it, just pointing out that the Montpellier thing isn't really any worse than any of the other mangled pronunciations we utter every day.

Now, back on topic, I can't way to get a fresh bottle of SAYZ-ahn.

Montpellier is local though, that's why it was interesting to me.

Saison Dupont has arrived and is in LCBO warehouses in Whitby, London and Ottawa. If you do not see it at your local LCBO ask them to bring it in. This world class beer is offered at a terrific price point so most store managers should be keen to bring it in.
