Which LCBO Beers Do You Miss The Most?
Which LCBO Beers Do You Miss The Most?
Which ones would you petition to bring back as permanent listings? The list could be endless but for me the top 5 would have to be:
Thomas Hardy's Ale (not the BO's fault, I realize)
Gouden Carolus Classic
Orval
Westmalle Tripel
DDC Péché Mortel

Dupont is supposed to be general list, it just seems to come in a little sporadically.
There's no shortage of ridiculous stuff I'd love to see regularly. Drie F, Westvleteren, Kuhnhenn 4d, etc. But if you want to limit it to stuff that is actually conceivable, I'd go with:
Cuvee des Jacobins
Midtfyns X Porter
Peche
Green Flash IPA (delivered fresh, somehow)
Ayinger brau-weisse
All but one have been in the LCBO in the last year, so I'm probably suffering from what have you done lately syndrome.

Founders Backwoods
Victory Storm King
Fullers Golden Pride
Westmalle Dubbel
Orval
Weltenburger Asam-Bock
I sure wish they'd get Franziskaner Hefeweizen, and an Andechser feature with the Doppelbock. LCBO seem to do very little new / promotional with the whole category of German beers, other than Höss Hirsch which merely replaced the superior Weltenburger due to 'packaging issues'. The Schloss Eggenberg brews from neighboring Austria made a great feature.

Brooklyn BCS (I'm surprised they continue to deal with us)
Jacobite (Yeah, a great heavy, and it was under 3 bucks!)
Backwoods Bastard, yes, but if I had to have one general list founders it would be the porter
Celebrator

I bought two bottles of Celebrator when I saw it......when i opened it, it was the worst beer i've ever had. I gave away the second bottle, quickly, with a bad taste in my mouth. After thinking about it, after the fact....i'm sure the first bottle was off, and i wish i could taste it the way it's supposed to beJeffPorter wrote:I didn't realize we ever had this...I remember the prima pils, but yeah this would be great.Belgian wrote: Victory Storm King

Came in to say Storm King as well...Belgian wrote:^ you realize bad LC merchandise is returnable right? It helps them with QC.
The Victory Storm King RIS is at beerbistro, and is worth the 9 or 10 bucks to order it with the Wagyu Beef Tacos.
