LCBO Spring 2006

Post by esprit »

Sorry to be getting so far ahead of ourselves but the LCBO has made it's picks for the Spring 2006 release...I'm afraid I'm going to tease you but the selection is, again, less than overwhelming. Good news is that, for the first time, we'll be seeing Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA...a great session IPA at 6%.

Any opportunity for private orders on other Dogfish Head products? Here's hoping...

Yup, innis will be in as of Sept 14th, or so says the LCBO phone rep.

How many did you submit? Do you know of the others (any of yours) ? Doesn't that mean the beers you have submitted are not very overwhelming? I don't think the LCBO can choose beers that have not been submitted, I am right?

I expect it's the contrary. The LCBO is about volume and frankly, distinctive beers are not well received by the majority of the population in Ontario. Unfortunately.

mmmmm. I just knocked back half a 6 pack of that on the weekend on my Detroit Blue Jays trip (Please, don't mention the baseball, just the beer!!!, at least between the Dragonmead brewpub/brewery and the Dogfish, something was good!!)

The dogfish is very hoppy, but tasty, i will most definitely be looking forward to getting some more come the spring i guess!!

I won't get into what I submitted but it was a lot and included some fabulous brews and, of course, nothing gets bought that isn't submitted.

They have also chosen the Liefmans Goudenband for this release as well.

Didn't they choose Liefman's Goudenband in one of the past couple releases, but it didn't show up?

Yes, they did choose it for this past years' Spring release, I cannot speak to as why it did not show up. I do have confirmation though for the 2006 Spring release.

The LCBO person in charge of buying it was on spring vacation. I checked.
