I want to try and brew a heady topper clone but I can't seem to find hop shot or any other hop extract anywhere in Canada or a shot in the us that carries it that ships to Canada. Any Ideas anyone?
Cheers

What recipe are you going with?
I've been thinking about the BYO oct 2013 recipe here:

Also, there's an interesting interview here:

I always get it from this place:
http://www.brewbrothers.biz/Hop-JizzTM
Their shipping is half the cost of Yakima Valley's and to me the 5ml size is most convenient.
Now if anyone knows a good source for cans of hop extract that isn't yakima valley, that would be awesome.

Apparently it gives a smoother bitterness. I've never made the same beer back to back with and without extract, so I can't confirm.mahcinesquad wrote:What are your guys' thoughts on Hop Shots/Hop Jizz?
Is it worth the extra money? I'm assuming you get the right bitterness but do you notice anything improved in the final product? Only good for when you're doing giant IBU beers to cutdown on the organic matter in the kettle?
I use it for big beers with lots of kettle hops. My hop screen will clog up at a certain amount of hops, so minimizing kettle hops as much as I can is big for me.
Also trub loss is reduced a bit which always helps.
Keep in mind that it does need to be added near the beginning of the boil to ensure it all dissolves. I added 5ml at 30 minutes once and ended up with lots of sticky blobs at the bottom of the kettle.
Thanks for the replies guy! this is the recipe I'm gonna try http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f12/heady-t ... ne-390082/
