Exactly looking forward more to the guest taps, bottle shares and hopefully winning another BVLD or other variant than the $20.00 ea reg. Just ok beer?FEUO wrote:No interest in going. Long way for just an ok beer.
The event is heavily hyped which invariably means leaving disappointed.
I'd much rather hit Chicago on a random weekend for a relaxed time hitting HopLeaf, Map Room, Local Option, etc.
And FFF for takeout on my way back.
I'll remember that when I'm drinking Pliny the Elder, Heady Topper, Abraxas, Mornin' Delight, Parabola, Duck Duck Gooze, Hunahpu, etc. etc.

As for the ones you've mentioned. I've had a majority of those mulitple times from the comfort of my home. But good for you for getting to taste those.
Have fun in the cold and rain!

I will have boat loads of fun in the cold and rain btw. All that says to me is there will be shorter guest tap lines.
Far from cool. Just find a majority of your posts annoying and stupid.Ale's What Cures Ya wrote:You're so cool it almost hurts.FEUO wrote: I was referring to Dark Lord.

There's a handy dandy ignore feature built into most message boards.
But thanks for the tip.
And I ain't your friend, bub. You are a tool of the tallest order.

If you don't end up liking Dark Lord all that much on the positive side you have a very nice bottle of top quality soy sauce!
Any beer event is all about the event as a whole. Tastes in both beer and how one chooses to drink (and even enjoy) it is subjective.

I have a friend who wasn't able to finish his Dark Lord (2011 I think) so he used what was left to dip grilled scallops in and do a stir fry.
I'm personally 1 for 2 with Dark Lord - would love to get down there one day for the event itself, and I'm in no way a crowds type of person or a huge death metal fan. I'm probably willing to sit through 45 minutes of a resurrected Seth Putnam if I'm going to get BVDL.

Great weekend.
The weather sure did suck but it didn't take away from the fun at all. Met lots of great people in the lines and got to try dozens of beers I'd never had before, plus got a few pours of some old favourites. Both myself and the friend I went with won barrel aged variants. Sold my Vanilla DL for $200. Pallbearer was fantastic live too. Hopefully we'll be able to get back next year.
