New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Budweiser Budvar B:Dark (Tmavý Ležák) - seems like a legit all-malt brew with tasty Saaz hops, plus Munich and Caramel and Roasted malt adding layers and interest (some dry chocolatey tones).
A good addition to the LCBO. When's the last time you drank Czechvar/Budvar because this is almost a reasonable stand-in for a low-ABV stout.

For me it's not about the whole 'supporting a local business' nonsense. It's about getting jacked. Plenty of breweries provide quality for far less. You want to charge me $4.50 for a tallie of fucking IPA of Ontario beer, the province I live in? LOL! Fuck off. Terrible business sense. I can't get it in my hood anyways but if I could I'd lol, maybe buy one can, and unless my mind was completely blown, wouldn't go back to it.rejtable wrote:I thought their plan was just Ottawa distribution for now?spinrsx wrote:new
Beyond The Pale Aromatherapy IPA
LCBO#: 483388 | 473 mL can
$4.50
pricey for a local ipa. Karma citra at 3.25?
Also, isn't it a flat $4 at the brewery? If so, I guess for those who can't make it down to the brewery the extra $.50 makes sense, but I'll keep buying direct from them and save a few bucks.
I really like it, and I don't mind tossing a few bucks extra here and there to support a local business. I'll buy a lot more Karma in the next little while than Aromatherapy though with that price difference.
Stupid on all fronts. And I don't like this brewery anymore and will remember them for this. Dumb.
There is just over half a case of Aromatherapy at Yonge and Eglinton....a case was transferred in for a customer (me) from Ottawa. So if anyone is in the area there is a bit to be had.

Is it like $4.50 a can good?PeenSteen wrote:There is just over half a case of Aromatherapy at Yonge and Eglinton....a case was transferred in for a customer (me) from Ottawa. So if anyone is in the area there is a bit to be had.
Yeah, I mean I only bought 4 because I wanted to leave some for others who wanted some. I have had it before and liked it so 18 bucks isn't a huge investment IMO.Masterplan wrote:Is it like $4.50 a can good?PeenSteen wrote:There is just over half a case of Aromatherapy at Yonge and Eglinton....a case was transferred in for a customer (me) from Ottawa. Thanks for the heads up, stopped there on my way home from work to grab a couple.PeenSteen wrote:There is just over half a case of Aromatherapy at Yonge and Eglinton....a case was transferred in for a customer (me) from Ottawa. So if anyone is in the area there is a bit to be had.
Any left? Is it just on the shelf or do you have to ask for it?PeenSteen wrote:There is just over half a case of Aromatherapy at Yonge and Eglinton....a case was transferred in for a customer (me) from Ottawa. So if anyone is in the area there is a bit to be had.

I grabbed a can around 6pm tiday, 3 left after that. I have family in Ottawa, and get Beyond the Pale occasionally. Aromatherapy is goddamned good fresh, but at 4.50 when we have Great Lakes is pure robbery. I'd say 3.75 is fair.JerCraigs wrote:Any left? With releases like this, as a TO resident I can see why we'd be bitter at these releases, but some of these breweries are pretty solid, and are also good on capitalizing on the lack of a local market. Gatineau is still good ole Belgian style SAQ territory, so the experimentation is still novel (and well done). Hell, aside from Stone City in Kingston, dunno of anything that part of the province that can churn out solid taste.
Thanks for the head's up! Grabbed 6 cans last night. Any idea when this was brewed?PeenSteen wrote:There is just over half a case of Aromatherapy at Yonge and Eglinton....a case was transferred in for a customer (me) from Ottawa. So if anyone is in the area there is a bit to be had.
^^^Hop-head ^^^
More to come at the Yonge and Eg location, only one store in Ottawa was willing to ship any over. I will post here when it arrives....more than one case this time

No dates on can, didn't check case. Their launch party was first weekend of October, and deliveries local in Ottawa LCBOs were last week. So at most, 4 weeks old? Tastes like 3 weeks, but who knows.IPA_Lover wrote:Thanks for the head's up! Grabbed 6 cans last night.
