Delirium Tremens

Post by princess_kelsey »

Available at BeerBistro; elected best beer in the world

interesting background to the name/label.. Delirium Tremens has a Pink elephant on the bottle, meaning if you drink too many you will become delirious and see pink elephants! .. i think one bottle is 9% alcohol.

Apparently, Delirium tremens is not available in LCBO stores, however many bars around Canada do carry it.

If you have any questions or comments, please ask! :D

The LCBO used to carry it, IIRC correctly, it lasted a few weeks before they pulled it because the label and name were "offensive".

I still have a few from that release.

It is available on tap here in London at the Alex P Keaton, and while I do enjoy it very much there, I prefer the bottle.

I enjoy the yeast sediment that comes in the bottle, and the appeacance has a nice haze to it. It is also a lot breadier when in bottle.

A great beer all around.

Yes.

I frequent the Alex P Keaton, and have had everything they offer at least a dozen times over.

The Erdinger is always fresh there, and it is a good summer beer, but if given a choice, I would prefer them to get the hacker Weisse back on tap.

I haven't been down to Chaucer's for a while, but their online beer menu www.marienbad.ca says they have Ludwig's hefe on tap.

It's not my favourite either, but wheats don't seem to travel well, so it's nice to find any of them fresh on tap!

(rather than mis-handled bottles)

Ah Ludwig. I've had that three times this summer. It's pretty nice and definitely better than Erdinger.
