Anybody going to this? Anyone have past experience with CABA events?
I was thinking of going just for the $50 dinner (which starts at 5:30) because the idea of hanging out all day seems like a bit much. However, you can only sign up through PayPal if you take the $60 day pass, and I'm actually too lazy to mail a cheque.
I've tasted very few homebrews though, so I'm eager for the chance to try some out.

Will there be a large tasting? Awards?
Aventinus rules!
There will be a homebrew tasting, and awards for the competition. The brewmaster for Nickelbrook will be speaking about thier green apple pilsner. There will also be a mead tasting after dinner.
If you have been to any of the Evening with a Brewer events, you know they are a great time. We will be making beer on the patio for those interested in how to make beer, whatever your level of brewing.
If you brew or just love beer you will not be dissapointed.

had a blast at the gchc on saturday. it was my first caba event and i didn't know anybody, but quickly made friends. everybody was quite nice and it was fun sharing a couple beverages and talking about brewing all day.

looking forward to the next one.
i entered 3 of our beers: an imperial stout, a wheat wine, and an eised smoked scotch ale. i'm quite happy to report that 2 of the three earned medals: a bronze medal in the barleywine category for the wheatwine and a gold medal in the stout category for the impy. so one of them was 'copper coloured', but not 200 years old or a pilsnerpootz wrote:What are you entering?..."A copper colored pilsner from a 200 year old recipie"??
