Unibroue 750's

Post by boerenkool »

Stopped in at the Summerhill LCBO today and they're starting to carry the Unibroue in the corked 750 ml bottles - Maudite & Blanch de Chambly were available.
Looking at the LCBO website, it looks like the 6 packs are being discontinued for all but Fin du Monde (which should also be available in 750's - just not yet apparently).
Nice, but I'd still like to see more of the Unibroue range available in ON.

Cool. When they delisted them in Ontario (2005?), I bought up whatever I could find. I still have a few Maudite...

I've been drinking Maudite like crazy since the 750s came back in, and I have a bunch for my cellar.

This is great news!

A friend of mine picked me up 1/2 a dozen 750s while he visited Chambly. I much prefer them to the 6 packs.

It'd be nice to see La Terrible back again, too!

Those were the beers that got me started on my love of good real beer.
When I was in calgary a few years back they had vintage 750's of unibroue bottled in 98 that were a few bucks more what a treat that was!
Ummmm beer is good?

I highly doubt you will be seeing La Terrible. It will probably be the 5 we have always had in Ontario in 750's, Blanche, Maudite, Trois Psitoles, Raftmand, and La Fin Du Monde.

Apparantly there is a 2007 terrible... I'm not sure where it's being sold. I'd love to try a fresh one. I've still got a few 04's left. :D

All the above mentioned Unibroue products are available just an hour away in Buffalo. Not only bombers but 4 packs, mixed packs, as well as the lineup of Ephemere as well as the Quelque Chose (among others...)

I talked to the Sleeman driver the other day who says they no longer deliver any Unibroue to the Beer Stores on any of his roots. The last bombers he saw were heading to Hawaii ...

I saw a good selection of Unibroue bombers in a liquor store in Castle Rock, Colorado (just south of Denver) this afternoon.

The markup on Unibroue in Buffalo is obscene though :) Better to make the drive to Quebec....

Is this what it's come to? Having to go to the States to buy Canadian beer?
That is just plain wrong.

Are you saying there is some in Ontario or just saying that there is some?

*Ahem* - Bomber = 650ml or 22oz bottle.

Any 750ml bottle is not a Bomber FWIW.

Well here is a link from a beer wench who knows:

You can still find occasional old stock of Unibroue stuff, but many of the lines have been removed from their website. Apple and Raspberry Ephemere didn't make the cut, so you're probably drinking old dusty stuff if you buy it now.
