I've got a lot of stuff to choose from...this weekend it was all Westmalle Tripel and Rochefort 8 as well as some St. Peter's English with an awesome back rib barbecue I did. Too many beers...not enough time. I went to the Ex on Friday and just couldn't bring myself to buy any beer...even with the fabulous (not) KISS tribute band. On the other hand... my life companion (I'm married to her) and I partook of corn dogs (why do I do this, they make me ill but every year or two I need to remind myself and my stomach just gets older), pizza, shwarma and Tiny Toms. This on top of having bought a bucket of KFC the same week for the first time in about 3 years. I'm in the hospital now but I don't want flowers or visitors as I'm very embarasseed. The doctors suggest that I may recover.

Not to detract from the Belgian theme, but I stayed local with two beers I had not had before (bottled at least): Nickelbrook Organic White and Grand River Town Hall Lager. Both were excellent!

I was still in Denver over the weekend, so in addition to assorted Colorado micro brews and brewpub offerings, I spent a good portion of my time at the Avery, Flying Dog and Great Divide taprooms. Beers of note include:

Avery - Ellie's Brown Ale, Piglet Purgatory IPA, Kaiser Imperial Oktoberfest, The Beast Crand Cru, UberSchwein (dry-hopped? cask barley wine)

Flying Dog - In-Heat Wheat, Old Scratch Amber, Snake Dog IPA (cask), Gonzo Imperial Porter

Great Divide - St. Bridget's Porter, Hades Golden Belgian Style, Titan IPA, Hercules Double IPA, Yeti Imperial Stout

Back in my hotel room, I had some Ska and Tommyknocker brews in the cooler. I think the only non-Colorado beer I had all weekend was a Deschutes Obsidian Stout.
