Tried the St. Ambroise Vintage last night. It was surprisingly bitter, but very well balanced. It seemed great to drink now, but I imagine a couple years in the cellar would make this beer stellar.

I can't wait to grab a bunch of things when I go through Belleville where there is little buyer competition...

I concur w/ Derek that this is an excellent time to spend even a few hundred dollars, and enjoy the inexpensive bounty in months & years to come - if you grab only "one of each" you might not have another chance.

These windows of opportunity at the LCBO are few & fleeting so I buy more than I think I need & there's always freedom to return stuff later.

Just got back from Cooper St. and they have many cases of Aventinus Ice Bock and Fullers Vintage around. Lots of stock added to the LCBO inventory online in last day or two. Lots of people were milling around like kids in a candy store. Only one that has been released that I couldn't get was the St. Ambroise Vintage Ale, which is not available anywhere in east or central TO (deepest darkest Scarborough or Dufferin and King, Dufferin/Queen).

I'm almost positive that I saw this on the shelf at the new Liberty Village LCBO last night.

(Unless it was left-over bottles of the Framboise. I admittedly didn't look at the canisters that closely.)

Hi Greg,
Broke down and picked some up at Liberty village (is listed as Dufferin and King intersection on LCBO site, took a while to find). Man has that area ever changed for the better. Guess I should get out of the east end more.

Tons of these at Coxwell / O'Connor & free parking as well.

No St. Amby yet if that matters.

I was at the LCBO in Lindsay today and they had lots of good stuff. Fuller's Vintage, Aventinus Eisbock, St. Peter's Winter Ale, Samuel Smith Winter Welcome, the new Black Sheep one, two different krieks, Royal Oak.....I went in with a friend, not expecting to buy anything, and left $40 the poorer (or richer, depending which way you look at it.) It was definitely a surprise to find all that in such a high pickup truck per capita town.

As usual, Bayview Village has a good stock (also obvioius on the LCBO store inventory page).

I got my case of St. Peter's winter (and a few other treats). There seems to be more residual sugar than I remembered, but it's still very nice. I'll see how it matures over the winter.

I am hoping to get Thomas Hardy's at the Mississauga Mavis/Dundas store by mid-next week. I added some to the order as soon as the number went live, I can't wait for them to force it out. The Brakespear Triple also went live and I added it as well...so far they haven't been forced out yet.

I just spent my allowance tonight, for a few weeks I think.

I was surprised to be able to find as many of the winter warmers in Cambridge as I could, and on King St. to boot.

As I bought a bottle of Innis & Gunn, I figured it would be a good time to get the last bottle of the 2006 from my cellar and drink them both.

I really wasn't impressed with the 2007 IPA version though. Perhaps it will get better for next December.

I am trying an Aventus right now, and this one is going to be my downfall for the time being I think. Having a beer this good be 12% may be a bad thing.

To also add about the Youngs Double Chocolate, I am pretty sure it'll be the bottle, not the can, based on the fact they brought back the old CSPC for it, not a new one (unless the cans ship in cases of 12). Not as sure on the Greene King IPA that is supposed to come out too. Also have been told that Anchor Steam was re-submitted with a bock form Anchor, and that the board wants a premium US beer sub-class. Keep in mind , this is though other parties, not through anything from the higher-ups, since I have a hard time believing anything from anyone above me. ;)

Speaking of the Thomas Hardy's Ale, does anyone know how many come in a case? I can't wait for this to come here in Mississauga. Mid-next week huh? I can already smell it...
