Picked up the last 3 on the shelf at Orleans (thanks whoever left them!).
Best part, they didn't scan so he asked me how much, I said I thought they were 4.65, he went to check the shelf and ended up charging me 3.50 each. Glad I went to church on Sunday.
So how is everyone planning on drinking theirs'? I figure I'll stagger them, one 5 years from now, one 10 and one 15???

Probably haven't updated the website yet?PRMason wrote:The LCBO has informed us that the number for the John By Impy won't be active until the 12th of December. That means that the beer can't be shipped to them prior to that date.

I live in Waterloo, and just today I swear I got one of the luckiest breaks in quite some time. Our big store in the town square FINALLY got all their winter seasonals stocked on the shelves, so I picked up a couple Thomas Hardy's this morning. At the cash, they wouldn't scan, I guess they're having issues with this particular beer. So they decided to just type them in as a generic domestic bottle, and the total for the two of them was a WHOPPING $4!! I'm just mildly concerned about going back in case they figure out how much they're actually supposed to cost

That's sweet! I bought 7 bottles today and since they also wouldn't scan, the cashier just inputed the number in and one bottle came in at $4.55, 10 cents less than the original cost. But you got one heck of a better deal there!JesseM wrote:I live in Waterloo, and just today I swear I got one of the luckiest breaks in quite some time. Okay, so because I can't be bothered to wait for 10 years, I'm sipping on a Thomas Hardy's right now. Its definitely unlike anything I've had before. No head, very syrupy with strong dark fruit flavours, and an alcohol burn on the finish. I can definitely see how this would age well. Right now its a reasonably pleasant sipper, but if I can work on that patience the other 5 bottle may just be amazing.

If they keep giving it away for $2 a bottle the LCBO brass will likely never order it again once they see the losses on their product reports. I picked up 4 in Waterloo yesterday and at that location the cashier was smart enough to check her cash system with the product code to come up with the full stated price. Now I feel like I took one for the team...Hamilton Brian wrote:SAme experience; picked up a dozen and expected to shell out close to $60 and instead got the TH for $24.

Anyone could go to these stores and buy a case. If you don't get the $2.00 price, balk at the 'unexpected' cost.Hamilton Brian wrote:SAme experience; picked up a dozen and expected to shell out close to $60 and instead got the TH for $24.
If you do get a case for $48, hide it for 10 years and it will be worth several hundred.
