Great news that we'll have these 3 available to us. Plus Grand River will have their delicious Pumpkin Ale out again soonish.
I swear in my mind Pumpkin Ales give me the same giddy excited feeling I used to get as a kid for Halloween candy. They're just so damn gooooooood. They can almost console me for the loss of the HB Oktoberfest.

Some people would probably tar and feather me for liking a 'novelty' beer, but pumpkin ales are probably my second favourite style, and for me are the most appropriate match of any beer for any season. I'll probably buy at least the equivalent of a two-four of these beers, and some pumking if Southern Tier manage to get it on their order list. Too bad about the hofbrau oktoberfest, but you know its not the same without the oompah band and old german guys in lederhosen dancing with young female tourists!Derek wrote:These are a neat novelty item, but how many would you actually drink?
(I'm depressed 'cause they pulled the Oktoberfest.)
Propeller does a nice pumpkin beer out in Halifax too. Pumpkin beers are always fun to serve with pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving dinner, especially to those who've never tried it before. It's a good introduction.

With any luck, we should be getting some in late October on consignment.Gedge wrote:+1Bobsy wrote:and some pumking if Southern Tier manage to get it on their order list.

Picked up a couple bombers of this at the brewery last month. Never had it before and very anxious to try it, though I'll probably wait until October...Gedge wrote:+1Bobsy wrote:and some pumking if Southern Tier manage to get it on their order list.
My favourite pumpkin beer.
I agree with Bobsy, it truly is the perfect weather/beer match in that month, and one of my favourite styles, too.
Please, please, please, please do whatever you can to get this beer here! Consign it and we will come!Roland + Russell wrote:With any luck, we should be getting some in late October on consignment.Gedge wrote:+1Bobsy wrote:and some pumking if Southern Tier manage to get it on their order list.

Looks as if the Great Lakes Pumpkin is starting to hit stores - 24 listed at Bloor and Royal York (at least, I hope that's new stock...). I'm glad that they're releasing this one a bit earlier as it's a beer I love to drink through September and October, not just in the few days before Halloween. Can't wait to get my hands on a supply of this year's batch (assuming it's as good as last year)...
I think this 'phantom' stock is being held back for Halloween. I strolled over from work and didn't see any out.velovampire wrote:Looks as if the Great Lakes Pumpkin is starting to hit stores - 24 listed at Bloor and Royal York (at least, I hope that's new stock...). I did the same last night, just before closing, and it wasn't out. Asked a clerk about it, and got great service but no clear answer (not her fault); I doubt it will be out soon, but rather a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving.Bobsy wrote:I think this 'phantom' stock is being held back for Halloween.
