I hope the topic title is clear enough about what type of places I am looking for here.
If you read my other topic(thanks for your very helpful responses by the way!) you'll know that I don't know much about the Toronto pub/beer scene(never having been there) but am a big fan of English style ales(I'm sure you have a few good ones brewed in Toronto and Ontario in general).
It sounds like you have a lot of good pubs but i am getting the idea that most of them are out for me as far as bringing family into them. I may be able to sneak away by myself once or twice but in general I need to get some suggestions from you as to good places to have dinner or lunch that have either a good local beer selection or good selection of English imports(cask ale always a plus!) where my family can come to and eat off of a decent menu(outside is great!).
Will be staying in downtown area in general, on Gerrard near Yonges.
Thanks
WC

WeaselCat - There are only about a dozen pubs in Toronto with cask-conditioned beers PERIOD, full stop (And that might be a generous number) - Of those, most, if not all are actually bars, that have smoking, so no kids allowed.
As previously mentioned I think the Granite Brewery is your best bet to get AWESOME beer and it's non smoking so you can take kids - they also have 2 nice patio's - one out front, another in the back.
That Dangerous Dan's place I would also recommend, my kids really enjoyed it there - and good micro's on tap.
I can't really think of much else to be honest - Sorry for the bad news...
That being said, any pubs you can find that will allow kids you should expect will have a decent selection of English/Irish beers on tap - Check http://www.toronto.com do a restaurant search and then ping off some emails and let us know what you find!
Good luck!
