Montreal - West Island

Post by Jon Walker »

I'm making a very quick trip to Montreal next week and I will have only a few hours to either buy beer or grab a pint. I will be confined to the West Island of Montreal (Dorval, Pointe Claire, Dollard etc..) due to a family event. Any idea if there's a decent brewpub or pub out that way? Is there a good bottle shop or Depanneur?

Thanks,
Jon
I don't always piss in a bottle but when I do...I prefer to call it Dos Equis.

Metro Joanette isn't too far away:

Okay, it's probably close to the same distance as DDC, but it's not city traffic.

How about Trudeau itself. Any place to get a decent beer in the airport? I was there Wednesday and couldn't find anything more interesting than Rickard's White...

In Montreal now - I have family in Repentigny so I was able to hit Hopfenstark for a couple drinks and compare cd collections with Fred.

I was in Hopfenstark, last thursday, Fred gave me a glass of his latest creation, a rauchbier, with a nice smoked bacon, oily nose, with a malty, biscuity aroma :P , so if you are going to montréal, your chances of finding this beer are at the Brouhaha or Vices&Versa.

We just missed eachother by a couple of days! I was able to bring back various saisons, and had a sample of the Saison 16, rousse and rauchbier on tap. I tried some of the porter as well which will be available in kegs next week. I may have to make more trips to L'Assomption in the near future.
