5th Annual Spring Festival of Craft Breweries

Post by Bobsy »

Just got my newsletter email with further details:

Friday May 22, 5 to 10 p.m @ C'est What. No cover and samples are a loonie.

The snow is gone, the tulips are blooming, and it's time for our 5th Annual Spring Festival of Craft Breweries.

While we don't have the entire line-up confirmed as of yet, we should have around forty interesting flavours available to try in sample sizes.

For those with BADD (Beer Attention Deficit Disorder) notable newcomers for the festival are:

Amsterdam Spring Bock
Barley Days German Bock and Summer Light Ale
Black Oak Chocolate Cherry Stout (oak cask)
Creemore Keller Beer
Durham Hop Addict (cask)
F&M Maple Red Ale
Flying Monkeys Hoptical Illusion
Grand River Russian Imperial Stout
Great Lakes Orange Peel Ale (cask)
King Unfiltered Pilsner
MacLean's Bitter (cask)
McAuslan Vintage Ale
Mill Street Hefe Weiss and Milk Stout
Muskoka Hefe Weiss
Neustadt 300 (cask) and Texas Tea (nitro)
Nicklebrook Juniper Saute and Pale Ale
Okanagan 1516
Unibroue Chambly Noire
Some nice ones here, and I'm particularly looking forward to the Mill Street Hefe.

It'll make for a great weekend, this on Friday night and then part 2 of the IPA challenge at Volo on Saturday afternoon.
I don't always piss in a bottle but when I do...I prefer to call it Dos Equis.

There's already some great options on that list.

I'm glad to see some continental styles represented as well. I'm anxious to try:

Amsterdam Spring Bock (haven't had it on tap yet)
Barley Days German Bock
Creemore Keller Beer (to see what the keller-in-a-can might be like for the summer).

Anyone from St. Catharines or the Niagara region thinking of driving up for this? I'd love to carpool and I'll chip in for gas.

Trust me, missing out on that bock isn't necessarily a bad thing, and the keller is almost certainly the same as their canned offering this summer.

I would think so. I don't imagine John would do his own stout at the same time as his collaborative stout with Doug was being made.

Anyone have an idea whether all of the brews for the festival are likely to be available tomorrow afternoon prior to 5 pm?
