LCBO Autumn 2009 Release

The following beers are planned to be included in the LCBO's Autumn 2009 seasonal beer promotion. The official release date for these beers is Sept 14th. Note that as always, all details about the release including the beers included are subject to change.

I'm am over-joyed to see the Hazelnut Brown come back! And if the Oktoberfest beers actually make it in this year I'll be buying boatloads of them too. I'm definitely looking forward to this release!

Yeah. Not bad.

Nothing from Ontario though.

And a couple of minor price increases by the looks of it.

But it's certainly far more exciting than the summer release.

Well these are a few standouts I esp. look forward to, with the others providing some real entertaining drinking as well.

I really like the St. Peter's Cream Stout.... and I hope Péché Mortél will be fantastic as I remember. Let's buy up all that Péché to keep the DDC coming!

I also see many of you like the very age-worthy Gouden Carolus Classic?

The Péché Mortel is in Buffalo already, along with the Corne du Diable and a couple of others. More Canadian beer that Americans can get and we can't. Over $6 a bottle! I just got 6 in Montreal for $14!

This is a pretty good release. I'll probably buy either all or most of these to try them at least once and see if I should buy more.

While there are a couple on that list, I wish they would have included more North American micros since there are some pretty awesome beers that we just cannot get here. (Actually I'd prefer them to give up their monopoly on alcohol and let people buy whatever the hell they want to from wherever the hell they want to, but that's obviously too much freedom for Ontarians to handle.)

pretty solid release. definitely picking up lots of hazelnut brown, peche mortel, and st porter, and ill try a bottle or two of the rest.

Not bad.

Will be nice to get more of the Gouden Carolus Classic without having to jump through the private order hoops.

Great to see DDC in Ontario (I thought we were also getting the Corne du Diable in the fall?), though a bit pricey compared to Quebec.

Happy to see more Weihenstephaner. I'm hopeful that this could open doors to the Vitus in the winter release?

It's alright, but I absolutely love the Korbinian. We got a few good doppels last year, so hopefully history will repeat!

The Peche Mortel is certainly more expensive than in Quebec (approx $15/sixer), but also cheaper than in Buffalo ($36+tax and deposit according to a Buffalo friend). So I guess it all depends on where you are in the Province. I'll be buying it - Quebec is 4-5 hours away for me, and this beer is totally worth the premium of having it at a local LCBO. Nice looking release overall.

To answer another poster, I think you'll see a separate Halloween release with Corne Diable + some Ontario brews (Great Lakes and maybe even Grand River?) as part of it.

Jeff, you are correct in regards to the Halloween release. Same thing happened last year too. I think it is neat that we get a Halloween release and a Christmas release on top of our other ones. I hope this year, the quantities of the Mcauslan Pumpkin are more bountiful though.

Agreed on your first point as well RE:Prices. I'll happily pay $3.80 a bottle so that I don't have to drive 6 hours to go pick some up. Even Buffalo is 3-4 hours for me, and I can't find their stuff in MI.
