can you please bring back the links you used to include in your release posts though??
Greg explained the direct links no longer work for lcbo.com (you're welcome GC.)
And yes it's sad that some Schloss Eggenberg beers aren't coming back as predicted. It's not like people always take a liking to those challenging beers in one try - it sucks that our retail system strangles the potential of many unique products it should be supporting.
Well, have to buy them at the SUQ stores then... what the fuck, I have a car so I may as well do 50% of my beer shopping out-of-province...

R+R posted a thread in the Private Ordering forum saying that none of the Eggenberg beers were picked up for the Winter & Spring releases, so they're bringing them all in on consignment instead.
The brew dog IPA looks promising if you can believe the 2 Scots gits that brew it. You'd think grounds keeper Willie would guzzle a couple before wee bit of wolf wrastlin'.
A cross between Brit and Pac-NW coast styles. Chinooks and Yakima cultivar hops with New Zealand specialty hops meet Marris Otter malts. Apparently 65 IBU with both balance and hop burn.
Be interesting to taste another beer that uses the Nelson Sauvin hops. These give off grape like flavors...that mingled with the grape fruity Chinooks should be interesting.
Hope the bottles are relatively fresh.
The Tokyo oak aged imperial stout at 18.2% abv sound like fun as well:
Pootz, managed to try the Tokyo a couple of nights ago. Fairly similar to the World Wide Stout, although of course not exactly. Mouthfeel was definitely lighter than I was hoping.

I'm excited to taste this IPA. I'm hoping the Chinooks shine through... it's a fantastic aroma.
not sure what I think about the Nelson Sauvin and Chinooks combo.. Any beer you are thinking about in particular that has this?
The tokyo seems like a beautiful idea...
my mouth is just warming up for all the stouts and porters over the winter.
...Too bad the Konigshoeven Tripel and Quad didn't get picked up in either the fall or winter releases. Ditto for Fullers 1845...
The St. Ambroise Vintage Ale is usually in here as well, no? (Or has it been part of the separate "Christmas" release?) I can picture it sitting on the shelf beside the Fullers Vintage.

Can't recall how/when they released it in previous years, but this year's edition (20th Anniversary) is on the shelves now. I picked some up at Cooper St. yesterday, they had a ton.

.
I recall I got a couple of west coast biggies in trade that use them. Off the top of my head I think it was either Lagunitas seasonal a or north coast golden ale or Russian River one off...I must have half a year of tasting notes in the book I haven't filed yet.
All I can tell you is that the NS hops give off a green grape sort of taste and when mixed with the grapefruity Chinooks you get a kind of exotic passion fruit kind of tone....first couple of times I hit this taste/aroma in big style-defying micros I thought it was some fruity yeast ester from some new ale strain, but an old brewer who uses a lot of New Zealand hops straightened me out on the way SN hops effect taste...Once you know what you're looking for, SN hop presence is unmistakable.
I look forward to trying any brew that has used them.
