on tap at Cloak

Post by swall »

Perhaps the wrong place to post this question - but this area seems to get the most traffic :)

I will be stopping by my old local, The Cloak and Dagger, next week. Can someone tell me what their current tap selection is? I only have 2hrs (and a driver) so I'd like to make a plan of attack, so to speak (4, maybe 5 pints). Also, do they still have the same owners? Staff still friendly? Searched the "pub review" section but couldn't find anything current. thank you.

Hmmm, was there about a week ago, but only for one pint, and as soon as I saw the Hop Addict handle, I got that. But from what I remember, there was: HA, MS Organic, Tankhouse, Creemore, Diageo stuff, some Welly stuff (think their cask is still Arkell), 666, GL Winter Ale (I think), some Brick product, Stratford (Pils or Common, perhaps both), Denison's, maybe a Cameon's thingy.....I'm sure I'm missing (or fudging) several, as they have quite a few taps. Honestly, I'd get 4 (or 5) pints of Hop Addict.

Haven't been in a little while, but if it's not that great just walk a block down the street to Caplansky's. They've got a couple of great taps and awesome smoked meat sandwiches.

Yeah, that list seems pretty similar to when I stopped by a couple of weeks back. Might've been a Fullers product on.

The ownership should be the same since the "purge" and reno of 2006. The staff seem to be ever changing since I don't believe there's much money to be made there tip wise except for Fri/Sat nights. The commitment remains quality micro on tap so I'm certain you'll have decent options regardless. My sole remaining issue with the place is the cleanliness/maintenance of the tap lines...not sure how diligent they are about that. But I haven't been in for at least 8 months so...let us know what you find.
I don't always piss in a bottle but when I do...I prefer to call it Dos Equis.
