I left work early to pack for my trip so I had a Rogue Yellow Snow & Aventinus Eisbock. I am now a little tipsy and I haven't done any packing. I just noticed the Aventinus was 12% abv....

How so?
As a stout they're passable, but as an imperial they're a pale imitation, especially with peche mortel and brooklyn black chocolate having recent availability. I feel the bottles I've had this year were were especially thin in body compared to previous versions.
Agreed. Why drink mediocre stuff. BBCS and PM kick this beer's ass.

I just had a pint of Kinston Brewing Co Winter]Wallop at the KBC pub. Considered it very good!!

Now sipping Hockley Stout, also very good (anybody else find this slightly on the watery side, I would like to session it next time and see how I feel about that because maybe it's a great sessikon stout.)

You reminded my I had a half dozen myself, so I cracked open an Eisbock as well (from the first release here a few years ago). It doesn't taste anywhere near 12%... but I do feel some alcohol.

(correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the answer is - one (licensees and non-licensees) is not allowed to distribute liquor in a raffle/winning liquor manner... correct?)
I don't know if your conclusion is right...agencies can and do provide beer to people/organizations who are fundraising. A few years back I was very happy to get the cooperation of a few distributors in Toronto who provided beer for us to use as a raffle prize for a short film funding event. I also noticed in another thread that someone posted they won a photo contest sponsored by R&R and got a bunch of great beer for their winning photo. So it seems clear that beer/liquor agencies are able to do it...the question is can people who aren't agents do it?

The Amherstview Dart Club awarded me a Texas Mickey of Gold Tassel Rye Whiskey in a raffle, when I was maybe 17.

Good times!

Hmm, as you mentioned: " can people who aren't agents do it?" I'm debating that myself...

I was planning to give away 1 bottle of beer by doing a fun raffle draw... However, I'd like to do this in a lawfully manner yet simple manner. Now if it's illegal to do such thing ( without obatining any type of license) .. then I better stop here. lol.

Finishing off a bomber of Lug Tread, I think I'll have a #9 then fall fast asleep after a long and wonderful Christmas day. I will have great dreams about the tickets to the Beerbistro Winter City Celebration of Beer Dinner tickets I found under the tree today!

Winding down a busy Christmas Day with a 2008 year-old Aventinus Eisbock. Sweet and boozy.

2008 years old? Must have aged well.

Finishing off a 750ml ceramic of Beau's Lug Tread Lagered Ale, a popular gift item! This is rather nice today.
