I won't make it until midnight...kids are up at 7am whether I stay up or not! It's 10:30pm here in Van and the wife and I are at home watching movies and I'm the only one drinking (she's 6 months preggo). Tonight has been Petrus Aged Pale, Satan Red and my own homebrew IPA. Feeling fine and ready for a good sleep. Here's hoping 2010 is a better year than 09!
Cheers,
JW

I don't always piss in a bottle but when I do...I prefer to call it Dos Equis.

For me it was Nutcracker on cask at Volo. Can't believe it was relatively quiet at Volo tonight, no beer geeks or tickers. Oh well, the people who turned up for New Years Eve had a great time.

I celebrated quietly at home alone, my wife was working and the kids were sleeping. I ended up having an Achel Extra and a Great Lakes Christmas Ale. I was quite surprised with the Achel, I wasn't expecting much but I was blown away, reminded me of a Duchesse, very nice.

Had a great night, but the best beer available was Creemore lager, so I ended up with a Manhattan in hand at Midnight - the wedding was front page news however - the couple did photos at Nathan Phillips and caught the eye of a Sun photographer

This morning I said 'happy new year' with a Brew Dog IPA, nice stuff. Subtle nose, hops taste a tiny bit like Dogfish 60, overall very crisp rather than malty.

I took up the suggestion of lambic instead of champagne and had a 2006 Cantillon Rosé De Gambrinus. A good suggestion and an even better beer.
Reporting the morning after (which is fuzzy but not painful)....the Old Gym Socks dark rye dopplebock was enjoyed by all..... went through most of a cornie keg between 5 people...all had the "brewer's smirk" on their puss after the first pint
