Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

LCBO iPhone app

Post by GregClow »

blankboy tipped me off on this today: http://hippofoundry.com/lcbo/

Basically, it's a completely kick-ass iPhone app that let's you search for products, find stores in your area that have them in stock, etc., all with a very elegant and efficient interface.

And of course, the LCBO themselves have nothing to do with it, aside from the fact that the data is being scraped from their database.

It's built on top of something called LCBO API - http://lcboapi.com/ - that I've never heard of before, but it looks like a pretty useful tool for programmers who want to build these sorts of things. The person behind the API also created http://lcbosearch.com/ which is pretty nice, and I wouldn't be surprised if Drinkvine was built using it as well.

Anyway, if you've got an iPhone, I highly recommend grabbing the app. It's only 99 cents, well worth it.

Jeez, I have a 90%-complete platform agnostic version of this idea sitting in my projects folder right now. Perhaps I'll put it online anyway at some point...

Stupid paying projects getting in the way!
