More interesting stuff from Black Oak.
On Monday we will be packaging (Both bottle & keg) our latest seasonal beer: A Winter Ale.
Matthew developed the recipe. After carefull taste examination over the course of several pints (and a few volunteers to check it out) it has been deemed really good. (Sorry Arnis I can't use the expletive you used to modify good).
The beer itself is a winter ale, nice malt accents backed up with a good hop punch. It has a beautiful red colour and should be 5.7% alcohol by volume.
I'm hoping to have it on at The Victory Cafe, C'est What (once the Pale Ale keg is finished), Augusta's Winking Judge and a few other places I will be pestering. It's difficult to get a guest tap for a new beer.
Small details like LCBO lab analysis and making a tap handle for this beer should delay the official release until Monday Feb 23.
Bottles will be available out of the retail store only. (I can deliver some if you wish) please call 905-339-1037 or email me at kenwoods@blackoakbeer.com
This is the start of our new seasonal beer selection. So far we have plans to revive our Summer Saison, do something in the fall (Oaktoberfest)and then get back to our Christmas Nutcracker. Right now we are still planning a spring beer.
I hope you enjoy. I'll post more information and locations as it gets released.
So enjoy a Winter Ale because winter will soon be over and the warm weather is fast approaching.
Cheers
Ken
