Not to confuse malt whiskey with whiskey malt. Fact is, whiskey malt in this case has nothing to do with whiskey.bartle wrote:Listening to Cannibal Corpse and moved on to Raftman. Real Malt Whiskey Ale for real Metal!
WAIDN: Because of youre inspiration: Sepultura with whats left of a BDT IPA keg.

Understood! However, it's sometimes appropriate to pretend to be brain dead and ignorant when reading french labels.iguenard wrote:Not to confuse malt whiskey with whiskey malt. Wow. I haven't listened to Sepultura in a long time.

Love the Sepultura. Listened to Arise for the first time in a while the other day.iguenard wrote:Not to confuse malt whiskey with whiskey malt. But more importantly, how did you obtain a keg of BdT IPA?? I assume you weren't at the brewpub; doesn't really seem like the type of place to take Sepultura requests.
How's the Saranac? I've found the Cisco's Whale Tail to be drinkable, but little more.TJ wrote:Saranac Pale Ale
Cisco Brewers Whale's Tale Pale Ale
Had a TBW meeting tonight, and there's a lot to be excited about! Drank a C'est What Ginger Wheat, Steve's Dreaded Chocolate, Grand River Raspberry Pils and Flying Monkeys Smashbomb. I'll reiterate my belief that while I think Hoptical Illusion is wildly over-rated by Bartowellers, Smashbomb may well be the real deal.
TJ - shoot me a PM, you should come over for drink at the new place!
The Saranac is middling at best. A thin bodied English Pale Ale. Which is to say a pretty boring if not completely horrible beer. I have five more if you want one. Or five.
In my review of the Whale's I said it's kind of like that plain girl next door with the great personality that you would date, but who you wouldn't exactly go bragging to your friends about. Good. Drinkable. But I kind of feel like it took up space in my suitcase that could have been put to better use. Oh well. It's hardly the first time that's happened.
And I agree, Hoptical Illusion is just another name for Tankhouse. I'm really not sure what all the fuss is about. But I'm really looking forward to the Smashbomb. One way or the other it'll happen this weekend. What, if anything, is it comparable to?
PM sent.

Good question.
A west coast styled IPA with loads of tropical fruit and a solid lingering bitterness that will please anyone that calls them self a hophead.
If you`re reading this, there`s a 15% chance you`ve got a significant drinking problem. Get it fixed, get recovered!
They sell kegs to walk-ins at the brewpub. Good prices too. 30 L lasted through a couple of family get togethers.notdan wrote:Love the Sepultura. And youd be surprised by their openness to music. They have a whatever-goes approach from Joe Dassin to Collective Soul to Oscar Petterson.
