St. Bernies Gone Like Hot Cakes
One of the advantages of living in a smaller community is that far fewer people understand when they have a great thing right under their nose. My LCBO brought in 48, of which 24 still remain. I picked up six and will likely get a few more tomorrow.

In case you couldn't tell, I was being a bit sarcastic. But since we're on the subject, of course, a person has a right to buy as many bottles as he likes even if he takes everything from the store on the very first day it comes in. On the other hand, this hoarding mentality is primitive and shows poor form, considering other people, including new potential beer lovers, won't have the chance to discover this beer and perhaps join our cause. Take many bottles if you wish, but for god sakes, have the courtesy to leave a few for another person to enjoy as well.tuqueboy wrote:Gosh. The nerve of someone, buying lots of something they like. Thanks. It takes a true academic to see the world in this light. I'm surprised, yet happy, to see that there is yet another one of the brotherhood here on the towel. We know that hoarding is silly, for children even.....yet we tolerate this inane , passive aggressive, obsessive and silly behaviour of those around us. But it truly takes a member of the intelligentsia to realize all of this so I am glad we have at least few among us.TJ wrote:I appreciate your honest, intelligent, and mature insight re: hoarding.SteelbackGuy wrote:People who hoard are ghey and uncool. Imagine my surprise after checking drinkvine to find a case of St. Bernie at my next door LCBO. It couldn't be, there must be a mistake. Yep, it's "put aside" for someone.
I got in a little bit of an argument over the phone with the clerk about how cruel it is to post product on their inventory that is actually not available to consumers. He said it goes up because everything they receive goes into their inventory, it's not considered a special order and they can't flag the product as a hold for someone without leaving a trace online. I told him it should be fair game if it's on the site - he disagreed.
Could I get an employee to weigh in on this? I can't remember who it is who works there.
And...To the one that placed the order in Sudbury, if you didn't want the whole case, but had to for minimum purchase ordering, I'd take several bottles.
