Beer Bistro is Awesome

Post by mustang3 »

I had my first experience of Beer Bistro tonight for my little brother's graduation dinner and wow it was awesome. The beer selection is top notch and the food is outstanding. My mom was a little worried about a restaurant with beer in the name, but she and the other non-beer lovers with us came away raving about the food. I also got to meet Philip DiFonzo from King brewing, he's a great guy and both his pilsener and dark lager are excellent. If you haven't been to Beer BIstro you should go.

I was in the beerbistro one time, sitting at the bar, when a couple sat down at those seats between the bar and the dining room. He was a rosy-cheeked young guy, probably barely out of university, and to my estimation she was a lady in her forties.

As they waited for their drinks, I tried to figure out the relationship. Mother-son? Colleagues? Young buck and his sugar-momma?

Then the drinks arrived: one Maudite in its own glass, and a gingerale. I had preconceived notions of which belonged to whom, and thought it absolutely cool when it developed that the Maudite was in fact for her.
Guess what? I got a fever. And the only prescription ... is more cowbell!

Side note unrelated: I've been following Euro2004 online as well...the commentary is freakin' hilarious.

I was there the other day, delighted to learn that I could purchase any glass they used... I've finally got that Schneider-Weisse glass that I've coveted in many a German restaurant.

Side note - Kimchee, could you possibly describe how the beerbistro washes their glasses? I don't have a dishwasher, so I need a way that doesn't use soap.

If that's not a hint for me to get my butt down there, I don't know what is. Thanks for mentioning it! :D

richard, you have to call me kid presentable here or cass will get mad:)

beerbistro has a glass washing machine, I believe is uses special kinds of industrial cleaners that don't leave residue. I'd say the besy way to wash your glass at home is by hand, with hot water and a dish towel
