Southern Tier IPA, the only good IPA?..
Hop head is a really good one - but sadly, it disappeared really quickly. I am currently enjoying the Netherworld. Not really hoppy, but an interesting and nicely full bodied brew nonetheless.Lukie wrote:

I'd give Flying Monkey's Netherworld a try. Comes in an open six pack, so you can sample a single bottle before you buy the case. It's not exactly a traditional IPA (more like a hybrid of a West Coast IPA and Stout), but it has a good amount of citrusy Cascade Hops in it. Its quite a unique brew for Ontario standards and frankly I prefer it to the caramel/buttery English style IPAs like Curmudgeon or Duggan's #9.
Also, Gemini by Southern Tier is a lovely, powerful (but costly) Imperial IPA.
I tried the Gemini - it was a very strong, very hoppy ale and beyond belief expensive. $9 per bottle?!

Here in B.C. (and I believe in Alberta too) most quality American IIPA's in bombers are $8 or more. Some on the high end, like Dogfish Head Squall or Hopworks Ace of Spades, run about $28 for 750ml. Further evidence that the Tree Double Hophead was an INSANELY well priced beer at the LCBO.
I don't always piss in a bottle but when I do...I prefer to call it Dos Equis.
The Gemini IS in the Luxury price range but as Jon says 'the going price.' I don't regret buying a few to enjoy at home (at beer bars, you might need to arrange financing LOL.)

Well I'm quite satisfied with Mad Tom IPA, even though its about a dollar more expensive than it should be for a 6 pack, but I digress. Now Ontario finally has a great IPA at its back.. now we just need a double/imperial ipa over 70 IBU and I'll be happy.
I'd give my left nut for more hophead in stock at the LCBO -_-

I stopped by FM on Saturday but there wasn't even any Smashbomb "review" bottles available. Would have been nice to do a side by side.
