I had the Beaus Dunkel last year at Oktoberfest. If this is the same beer then it is an awesome beer. Although if that is the price it does seem a bit steep, compared to what I remember paying for a growler of it last October.Ukie wrote:

"Which stores in the Hamilton Area?"
"I like you, you make me laugh!"
"Sigh, I'm so tired!"
Guessing only the usual 24 or so regular stores but I have seen that change.

Maybe a few of us Hamiltonians should band together and try to order in a few cases to split. I can think of at least a few people on here who would be down with that.Ukie wrote:FM SC DIPA #263996 650 ML $8.95TheSevenDuffs wrote:Interesting. If the beers in question weren't so scarce and had zero chance of ever coming back to the province people wouldn't have to buy 3 cases of a limited release at one time.
The only thing worse (and dumber) than the LC's 'equal' Ontario distribution is the weird assumption that all product-starved consumers visiting stores should magically turn into altruists concerned for the Common Good.
Ain't gon' happen, fool.

Refraining from hoarding or panic buying doesn't in itself make one an altruist, but it does demonstrate propriety.Belgian wrote:Don't blame the asshole-slash-victim.carguy wrote:What he said.Ale's What Cures Ya wrote: Hoarders gotta hoard.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
This feature is supposed to run. August 14th to October 8th. When the beer actually arrives is a different story. But Hamilton isnt "special" so I may rethink buying these breweries regular offerings.cmadd wrote:When in August should we expect this release? Or should I be planning daily trips to Cooper St...

Is it the brewery or the LCBO that decides which stores/markets get these features?Ukie wrote:This feature is supposed to run. August 14th to October 8th. I have been in touch with some of the breweries from past features and they said that it was the LCBO and they have no say.
I have been in touch with the stores and ask why all year round they carry and sell well all of that breweries releases but are not part of this feature and they say its what the brewery wanted.
Raise your hand if you didnt see that coming!
let me know if you want to hear about my experience as a sales rep for one of the breweries participating in this release or dealing with the lcbo in general.Ukie wrote:TheSevenDuffs wrote:Is it the brewery or the LCBO that decides which stores/markets get these features?Ukie wrote: This feature is supposed to run. Yesterday, monday the 8th of August I called all 24 stores participating in the release.
Not one of the stores had any idea what i was talking about.
In general most stores were very positive and placed sizable orders for our Pugnacious Pale Ale, some were causious and ordered in smaller quantities, some flat out refused to order the product despite being on the list of only 24 stores that we can sell this product too.
The products in this release are not live in the internal LCBO system and nothing has been forwarded by the LCBO head office to the stores that are supposed to be recieving these products AFAIK as of yesterday.
We have our product bottled and ready to ship but we cant because the stores cant recieve the product until the SKU's are live.

Wow. Talk about a poorly organized release on the LCBO's part...matt7215 wrote:Yesterday, monday the 8th of August I called all 24 stores participating in the release.
